great all-in-one for small business

Fantastic machine! Does everything I need- copy, scan, fax and of course print- easily and quickly. Great quality printing. It was a little bit tricky to connect wirelessly to my network, but once connected, it works well. My only quibble would be that the papertray is awkward to get to for quick loading.

Excellent product at a lower price than others

After several years my old printer of a different brand gave it up. I need to be able to print 11x17 so I am somewhat restricted. I have never used Brother printer before. The price seemed almost too good for what was offered, but the brand had good reviews so I gave it a try. I could not be more pleased. The quality of print is excellent and must say I love the larger ink capacity. I have used the printer for many purposes including photo paper and it is outstanding.

Great Printer with Unanticipated Features

We still own a large bed Brother form about 10 years ago but finally threw in the towel and bought the MFC-J5845DW. Great decision great new printer. Have yet to purchase print cartridges, but looks like Brother branded cartridges are reasonably priced when calculated on a per page print basis. Besides great prints, here are a few of other unanticipated features that we like.
Very fast printing
Able to print directly from iPhone and Android smart phones and tablets.
Very stable Wi-Fi system.
Able to print two sided pages.
Accepts heavy 11x17 photo paper - I am using 61# paper with no feed issues.
Print quality on photo paper rivals that of color lasers even on 11x17.

Be aware that even though this printer prints 11x17, the max scan size is LR/LGL. Not a big issue with us as we seldom it ever need to scan 11x17 and if we do, then we can scan it sections and use apps to knit together.

Where is the ink?

Where is the ink? The box states that it has one years worth of ink {"inside" and all that was there was the intital order, no coupon, nothing....

Up to 1 Year of Ink In-box is based on average monthly print volumes of approximately 300 pages at 60% black pages / 40% color pages in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711 using 4 cartridges provided in-box.
The MFCJ5845DW, MFCJ5945DW, MFCJ6545DW, and MFCJ6945DW come packaged with LC3037 INKvestment TANK Super High Yield Ink Cartridges. Actual yield of initial cartridges will be approximately 100% of replacement LC3037 Series, due to ink system initialization. All replacement cartridges will provide approximate page yield stated in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711.

Great, affordable, large-format color

Super printer, gives us dependable service. Great color, prints well 2-sided. Needed occasional 11x17 printing, cheaper than color laser. This is our 4th Brother product; won’t spend $ on other brands.
