Incredibly User Friendly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. Overall I`m really impressed with the quality of this printer. Our old one had recently given out and with all our printing needs and home office neccesities we had to get something new immediately. All in all this machine is so user friendly that set up and use were literally a breeze.Set up: You`ll find the quick start guide on top of the machine as soon as you open the box and from there following the set up steps were so easy the machine practically set itself up. After manually placing the ink cartridges in their designated slots the LCD screen prompts you through the rest of the set up from placing the paper in all 3 trays to the time/date input. The only time I ran into trouble was connecting my cell phone to the printer and the problem was user error. The phone needs to be on your Wi-Fi network and not on your carrier network. This was clearly stated in the set up guide but I didn`t realize it until I went to the trouble shooting guide and once there the answer was so easy to find. After I was all connected I got busy printing. Use:This machine is great and so easy to use. It does so much as a multifunction machine that I can handle All of my print/copy/scan/fax needs right from my home office. The only option I have not yet been able to utilize is printing photo`s. I attempted to print on regular letter paper but the machine recognized that I was not using glossy paper and prompted me to change the paper. Quality: For as fabulous as this machine is I feel that the crispness of the color is lacking a little. I just don`t feel like it pops the way it should. I don`t want to use the word dull but I feel it could be a little more sharp. If I had something like a presentation to prepare I might have it printed somewhere else. Although it may just be a matter of settings that I have not adjusted properly.Overall:The ease of use of this product shoots it up to an easy 4 stars and of I could get a little sharper print it would be a 5 hands down. The look of machine is very professional and the quality is outstanding. In my opinion you are definitely going to get your money`s worth from this product, especially if you have a home office with many printing needs.

This printer has a lot of features which I like.The colors were vibrant on the photographs I printed out. It has three loading trees to choose from which is great to you this way standard paper and paper for photograph paper. The ink does take longer to dry than I would like and smeared a few times

I am using this printer for my studies.Easy to set up and very fast speed Vivid ink on pages. Thinking about making Christmas cards with this printer this holiday season. Looking into more projects also. Brother is an excellent brand with quality behind thier products. I highly recommend this printer.

Almost perfect!

Scanning to a computer on the network is more troublesome than necessary. You need a software program on the computer to receive the scan. It seems impossible to select a scan in JPG, PDF, or TIFF format!

Fantastic Addition to Home Office!

I teach infant and toddler music classes, and part of my job responsibility includes printing and copying out music sheets for the parents. The printer and copier in my home office gets a lot of use every week, and plays a vital role in my weekly preparations.When I received the Brother MFC-J6945DW InkJet for my office, I was very excited to try it out! I appreciated that it has everything I need in one unit: printer, copier, scanner, and fax.ASSEMBLY: The Brother MFC-J6945DW InkJet comes fully assembled in its box. The box and its contents are quite heavy, so it`s probably best to have two people take it out of the box.SET-UP: Setting up the printer was intuitive, and the included instructions were comprehensive. From taking it out of the box to being fully functional and ready to go took approximately thirty minutes. This includes connecting it to WiFi, installing the ink toners, and downloading the software to your computer.PROBLEMS: While I personally have had no issues with the printer, some might find downloading the software and updating the drivers cumbersome. It also adds additional programs to your computer (specifically for scanning), which some customers may not want to use.Additionally, the copier is not automatically set up for legal size paper. You will have to manually adjust it to fit most standard printer paper.USE: I found the Brother MFC-J6945DW InkJet to be very easy to use! The touchscreen is responsive and intuitive. It prints very quickly, and there are no smudges or smears on the paper. The copier and scanner functions are also quick, with quality results. Overall, I am highly satisfied with this product, and it is a fantastic addition to my home office.

Full of Options For A Home Office

I needed a new printer for my home office and this Brother prints seems to have all the bells and whistles. I primarily use the printer to print, scan, and make copies. This printer performs just as well as any printer I`ve used in an office/copy center, but in a compact size that is perfect for my home office. It`s nice that it comes with a years worth of ink.Overall, it was easy to assemble and the Quick Start guide was clear. I had the printer up and running very quickly. It is easy to print from both my computer and my phone. The touchscreen on the printer has many options, but takes a little getting used to as it`s not as intuitive.My only complaint is when I printed address labels, the ink smeared a bit on a few of the labels. I`m not sure if it is because it`s an inkjet (versus laser), or due to my ink settings. It could be user error, but I couldn`t find a quick, easy way to fix the settings. The ink never smeared on regular paper though! It prints perfectly on regular letter paper.I have to say I love the size of this printer. It fits perfectly in the corner of my office on a low bookshelf. My favorite feature is how fast it scans document to my computer. The scanning and copy functions are efficient, easy to use, and much faster than my old printer.Based on the price point, this printer is a great option for those looking for a multi function printer for their home office. I know I`ll get a lot of use out of it.

I have used this product for over a week now and I can truly tell everyone that it is amazing. I have used the printer which prints out every detail of what I`m printing so clear and I have 4 colors that goes with it. I have used the scanner and then turned around and copied items that I`ve needed to copy and couldn`t until now. Everything that I have done with this machine has been trouble free. I haven`t had any problems doing anything I`ve needed to do.Set up was so very easy to do. I set everything up and had it running in less than 1 hour. I didn`t have any problems at all. Anyone can do it.I have been telling everyone I know about the Brother Inkjet that I received. I highly recommend to anyone that wants a high quality product to buy this one.
