Love it more than I expected

While I had a problem initially with the printer, Brother proved to me why it was a good decision to by their product. They took care of my issue quickly and professionally. I am now their biggest fan. The printer does everything I expected and has more features than I realized.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer works as advertised. Print is crisp and clear. Colors are rich and vibrant. I just wish ledger (11x17) paper could be stored in the bottom paper tray for printing. I can only get it to feed from the rear or the top tray.

Kinda Disappointed

The wi-fi connection works well. Print quality(especially black & white) is both inconsistent and sometimes streaky. We realign the unit weekly. Also... not even close on ink consumption. We have about 7 people using from different stations. The speed is good. We have smaller Brother units that print better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Tabloid Color Printer Scanner Available

I have the previous model 6710 and love it. So when I needed another tabloid 11” x 17” printer I did my research again and no surprise Brother was the answer again with this model. It does everything with an 11” x 17” size paper that it can do with letter and legal. Prints nice color at good ink price. Does single or double sided prints, copies, and scans. Or you can scan on the flat glass for items that cannot go thru a feeder. It has two trays for any size paper, and a back manual feed slot. It is WiFi, network, or USB. Has a nicer color touch control panel. And the software is great. I print a lot of 11x17 plans, mark notes all over them in red or pencil, and then I can adjust the scan settings and save the settings so the scan looks good and the file size is smaller. It’s also a good photo printer for the kids. The best thing is it never breaks. Rare malfunction that is easy to clear following on screen prompts. On my old model Brother still updates software long after warranty is up and product is no longer sold. It is super easy to print and scan from smart phones also. Brother is my go to brand now thanks to these two large format printers.

Hardware is SO close to perfect...but that app

Moving up from the MFC-J6910DW, I see many welcome improvements, with the most obvious being the MultiPurpose tray holding a stack of paper, rather than being limited to a single sheet. The appearance of the lower paper tray (tray #2) when loaded with Ledger-size paper (11x17) is much cleaner than the older system, and having the trays accept letter-size paper at a 90-degree angle helps, as it means reconfiguration of the tray in only one dimension when switching between letter and ledger. The TWAIN driver works perfectly with FileCenter.
The only thing preventing a 5-star review is that the iPrint&Scan software is *still* a 32-bit application, with the inherent memory limitations. Attempting to scan an 11x17 color image at 1200dpi gives a "Memory full-cannot continue" error message. For these cases, I use the PreScan option and then perform partial scans of the page to combine.

Why so slo-o-o-ow?

The printed product is good and it has a good mix of all-in-one features. I get a lot of 10+ page faxes and this machine does a lot of buzzing, clunking and werling before it starts to print, then the print speed is slow and finishes with more buzzing, clunking and werling.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wonderful Machine!

I switched from an HP8740 to the Brother MFC-J6945DW because I though the HP was poorly constructed. The Brother is more solid, more reliable and an excellent addition to our office.
