Very nice super automatic espresso maker. Only changes I would suggest is make the cup warmer heat up faster. Also allow 2 scoops of coffee in the bypass for stronger single cups of coffee.

WHAT A GREAT MACHINE. IT MAKES 15 DIFFERENT COFFEE DRINKS AT THE TOUCH OF THE SCREEN! GREAT TASTING COFFEE. I'VE HAD EACH AND ENJOYED EACH ONE! TEMPS ARE GOOD AND ONCE THE MACHINE IS WELL WARMED UP, THEY CAN ACTUALLY BE ON THE EDGE OF TOO HOT. DID I MENTION THE NUMBER OF COFFEE DRINKS IT CAN MAKE? PLUS IT'S EASY TO MODIFY THE DEFAULT SETTINGS FOR PERSONALIZED DRINKS. I HAVEN'T SLEPT MUCH IN THE 2 MONTHS SINCE I GOT IT. IT'S FANTASTIC!!
Seriously, it's a great machine. Temps are good. Milk has great foam when you want it. Adjustments are easy. This is our second superauto machine from Saeco (last one lasted 10 neglectful years) and it doesn't disappoint. First time we've had the milk attachment and it's key. We were skeptical about the milk part, but it's performed flawlessly and is easy to use and clean. We run about 10 cups a day through it and have yet to have a dud.
Only two complaints: sometimes it doesn't realize you don't have enough beans or water or have too many grounds in the dump bin and will stop a brew partway through and not pick up where it left off when you address its issue. Not a big deal, but can be annoying if it's the first cup. Second, the dump bin seems to be based on number of cups, not weight. So if you empty it before the alert, you'll still get the alert and have to remove and replace in order to continue the brewing.

Easy to use, makes excellent coffees

After looking at several different super-automatic espresso machines, we ultimately decided on this Xelsis. Part of our decision was the ease of cleaning, removable brew group, and presence of a water filter, which were all features missing in part from other super-automatics in the same price point. Set up is easy, the touch screen is simple and user-friendly, even for those who are technologically challenged. Cleaning is easy. We have been trying different low-oil coffee beans and have found the Lazazza Top Class to be excellent, even though we always loved dark brews in a drip coffee maker. It’s slightly annoying that it reminds us to empty the grinds since we do that every day and it apparently works on a reminder after a certain # of cups. The hygiene-steam is a great feature. They shute for ground coffee is OK, not as effective as we’d hope. We’ve given away most of our bags of ground as a result.

It’s not easy to navigate and I’m finding that it says to add tablets to the unit to clean it but the website says they no longer sell these tablets.Are the tablets still required?

Best Tasting Coffee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since we came back from Germany, we wanted to purchase this machine...and this year was the year! The coffee tastes amazing, better then the coffee shops. It is extremely ease to clean on a weekly and monthly basis. There are easy to follow videos and articles to read for maintenance, and operation. The grinder adjustment is easy to use and we love that you can program your favorite drinks in. I hope it lasts for many...many years!
