Machine runs pretty hot and the fan comes on more often than I would like. When the fan is on it's pretty obvious loud enough to be a distraction. The HDMI port doesn't work as I would expect. The USB port on the device doesn't seem to work right when I plug in a USB hub and plugging in my keyboard into the hub. The laptop is slim which is nice and I wouldn't say it's light but for a 15" the weight is alright. I like the fact that it has camera blocker for those paranoid folks like me. I find that having only one USB 3 port is not enough, maybe another would be great. The lack of an ethernet port actually turns out to be more inconvenient than I would have liked.

Great laptop with great specs. 6 core CPU is a beast, great for video editing, multi-tasking and fair for gaming with the GTX 1050 Ti MaxQ. upgradability beats any competitor with up to 64 GB ram and 2 M.2 SSD slots. Screen is a joy to look at with the 4K display. Material feels solid and of good quality. It's a print magnet but not a big deal for me. Keyboard is a pure joy to type on. with all these specs it's impressive how they managed to get it that light. (barely 4 lbs). The only hic is the 80 wh battery. Lenovo claims 14 hours but it's not nearly as close realistically. I can barely achieve 5 hours with day to day use like browsing internet and streaming youtube with 50% brightness. I wish they had a bigger battery in there. If there will be an option in the future to replace the battery on this specific model for a bigger one (94 wh or so), I'll be the first one to do it. Another thing I noticed it that it tends to power throttle when the cpu is pushed like when editing 4k videos. but overall, Great product.
Monster work horse, amazing keypad, beautiful screen. One of my best tech purchases in the past 10 years!
I would recommend this to a friend!

It seems excellent performance-wise. It is unfortunately shorter battery than advertised and has a loud fan at times, which is why it is a 4/5.

I wanted to love my Lenovo X1 extreme but I think I got a lemon. It literally would stall using a basic application like Microsoft word, notes, etc. And I got a custom version with all the bells a d whistles. Was super disappointed and had to return.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The left mouse button above the trackpad, when pressed at the far right corner area, registers 50% of the time, approximately. Remedy is to click towards the centre of the left mouse button. Otherwise, so far, a well-built machine that dual boots Windows and Arch Linux fine.
