Best firepit, but rusts issues

So, I've had the biolite firepit now for 6 months. I figured this was long enough time to write a decent review.
Hands down this firepit is the best firepit I've ever owned. The size is perfect, with collapsible legs for storage and camping trips.
The fan/blower is absolutely great for starting and keeping your fire going for hours. Plus the app is wonderful, I've never had any connection issues.
The solar cover is the best, great carrying case. It charges the pit almost fully after a days worth of sun.
The one gripe I have with the firepit, is it has rusted pretty heavily. I allow my pit to cool down naturally and I bring it in after every use. I've used the firepit 3 dozen times in 6 months, so I'm disappointed on how it has held up. I bought high heat engine spray paint to protect it. It looks brand now now.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

I love that it is light and easily portable. I also love that it leaves very little residual ashes or embers at (although it does smoke much more than it claims). I do NOT like that it cannot get wet, which means you have to monitor it until it burns down. It also does not produce much heat unless you are VERY close to it. Lastly, the circulating tube at the bottom does not lock in place very well; I have to connect it to the fan chamber after each time I clean it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

With the FirePit's fan turned to high, its fuel should burn down to cool ash in 20 minutes or so. We bought our FirePit in November of 2018 on a road trip from Ontario to Alabama. We decided on the FirePit because the camp site we were staying at didn’t allow on ground fires, and the Biolite firepit offered the perfect solution for us. We thought it a bit of a splurge at the time, but the FirePit paid itself off over and over. In March 2020 our energy pack/blower stopped charging. We contacted the company and showed proof of registration. Thinking we were getting a new blower we were happy with the resolution. But when a brand new complete fire pit arrived, we were ecstatic!! We will forever be loyal to BioLight, we’ve already added the Solar Home system to our camping/emergency kit.

This product may burn well in a laboratory setting with perfectly dry wood but struggles in the real world. I would not buy it again.

Pixel 4xl connects just fine to the app. Watching the video on how to use it is key, especially making the coal bed first.

Saw the ad. read the reviews. Ordered the FirePit online. Six days later it's at my door. Easy to use and even easier to assemble. My wife and I are enjoying sitting in our backyard almost every night . We even have a inaugural " test run" video on my FACEBOOK page. The clean-up is remarkably easy and muss free. I love my FirePit so much not just for cooking and grilling, but for the ambiance it provides. Everything on the video that advertises the FirePit is accurate. My faith in internet purchases is restored. So much so that we're recommending it to our friends.

Like other BioLite products, the FirePit is a pretty ingenius piece of gear for the patio or car camping. While it's not designed for a raging bonfire, the FirePit takes a lot of work out of having a nice contained fire with limited smoke. The only knock I have is the fan noise, which is just a tradeoff.

Really great fire pit!!! Simple to get started and burns clean as promised. Would have paid more for a version with a thermal charger. It is great for campfires on the beach and for car camping trips for sure. Overall would recommend.
