Great little fire-pit

We had a chance to try this out while out on our boat. It is not totally smoke-free but it lit quickly, fire was great & the fan kept the smoke to a minimum.
Quiet fan & the unit itself is very portable. I loved it.
Have not tried charcoal yet but will very soon.

Fun for a quick backyard fire

We just got our FirePit and have used it twice. So far, so good! It is great how quickly you can get the fire going, with little effort, and my wife loves that we can keep the screen doors open and not have the house smell like smoke. We grilled brats and dogs on it over a wood fire and they were great!

FirePit took our tailgate to the next level

My boyfriend and I took our new FirePit to tailgate last weekend! It was ideal in this scenario and easy to transport (especially with the solar carry cover). The FirePit kept our tailgate crew warm and well fed. Being able to charge our phones with the FirePit allowed us to arrive to the game with full phone batteries (a first!) and full bellies.

One of Biolite's best products.

I was very excited to try this fire pit out after watching a couple videos on how easy it was to operate. I have never seen anything else on the market. It is perfect for tailgating, surf trips, beach days and pretty much any glamping trip. Perfect for San Onofre days! A must if you like to camp cook/bbq meals and have a mini portable camp fire for sunset. I also love how effectively and efficiently the fire pit burns the wood with their air intake system which can be regulated by the different fan speeds.

Great Customer Service

I got my Pit about 4 months ago and have had a few fires in it and I have to admit I am a bit of a fire bug so I like to make HOT fires. with that being said it did a great job. The battery pack went out on me and would not take a charge even after trying the battery reset. I emailed Biolite on a weekend and to my surprise right away Monday morning I had a response (Henz the Great Customer Service) they were very polite and very helpful with my issue. I did what they wanted and it didn't work but they warrantied the battery pack and I have received the new one and plan to use it very very soon! Thank you Biolite for your Great Customer Service and keep up the great work cause in this day and age good Customer Service is hard to find and even if you guys had a moderate product which you don't its great the Service provided by your people would make up for it.

Great Product - Context is King!

My wife bought this for me for Christmas. We already own the pizza dome set up so I'll admit that I'm a fan to start with. That being said don't expect to build a bonfire at sit 5' away, it's not made for that. Regarding the 'smokeless' feature, follow the directions as closely as possible and you'll have great success. So far I've started with a charcoal base because I was cooking both times. It's perfect for when I'm just cooking for the two of us. No need to fire up the big grill, plus you can get the same results with less wood. smaller wood works best but when you have a bed of coals you can put a decent sized oak log on. Now, just a couple of minor Quality issues. The cooking rack needs another thicker metal rod welded down the middle. The small diameter rods want to warp. Not a deal killer for me but seems like a slight design fix or thicker rod would be in order. Also, the recharging slot on the battery pack on mine is just a tiny bit out of alignment. I have to wiggle the cable plug in a bit gingerly. The mounting internally probably needs to be a bit sturdier. As for heat, get a good base of coals then make sure you are using good, seasoned(i.e. dried) wood. Different woods burn with different characteristics. I happen to like oak because I also smoke with it but it burns pretty hot. I think you could sit a couple of feet away and still feel the heat, I could anyway. Battery does produce an efficient burn! I love mine!

It works amazing if you use dry wood and if the wood doesn't have bark on it works great . I have not use charcoal yet.

When I first received it my daughter brought it to my work and we started it up in the shop. It was amazing. Now I want more to use when we are camping. I am hooked on BioLite.
