Great little unit

This was a gift for a friend, but we inaugurated it with a bbq and fire when received. Easy to assemble, cooked great, and then we enjoyed the fire following our meal. I like the portability of it, and it's super easy to use and clean. Am thinking I may get one for myself! Thanks.

The FirePit is a really great product

I bought my Fire Pit to use on the deck outside my house, and I haven't been disappointed. It is a simple device, well constructed and enjoy using it. For reference, I only use quality kiln dried hardwood, so my results are optimal. If you are trying to use wet poplar or random sticks you collected in the woods, don't blame the Fire Pit for a smoky, sparky fire. I break a long fire starter stick in half and place the halves under full size pieces of wood. Crank the fan all the way up, and in minutes you have a roaring fire.
On my deck, I use the silver pad available for the Fire Pit, and that catches most of the small occasional sparks that escape. Visibility through the mesh is great, and the smoke mostly drifts upwards.
I only use the fan when I want to stoke the fire, or get a new piece of wood going quickly.
the Fire Pit uses wood very efficiently, and is perfect for just ambiance or roasting marshmallows. It certainly won't throw off heat like a bonfire would.
I've cooked salmon and burgers over the Fire Pit with great results. I wrap the cooking grate with foil. Just make sure you have even heat.
The only issue I have had, and it isn't the Fire Pit fault is that it has been outside and collected dew in the morning and the top of the mesh is showing rust. I'm going to clean it up with a wire brush and spray it with stove paint. It clearly needs to stay very dry after use.
Last night, high wind knocked over the table that I had the Fire Pit sitting on, and it survived the approx four foot fall onto the deck with no visible damage, so it seems quite sturdy.
I am extremely happy with this purchase, and use it regularly.

I am more than happy with the purchase of the firepit and the solar charging cover. The blower provides a smooth clean burn and works perfect when cooking with wood. The battery pack has come in very handy during power outages I have no complaints about this product. The BioLite team is dedicated to their customers and to their mission. I will purchasing products from them in the future and appreciate their working for an extended period of time during shipping and delivery issues. Thank you BioLite.

This is awesome!! Do not listen to the poor reviews. Mostly people who don't follow the Instructions. Used about five times and no rust or wear. The fan motor Works great! It keeps the smoke down and everyone can enjoy the fire. This is a great product!!!

A very nice product. It burns seasoned wood with almost no smoke when set on 3-4. Green Bio mass not so good. But I knew that going in. Has long run time when fully charged. 16" wood is best. Pellets won't work. It's not a campsite roaring fire. It is an under the carport or on the back porch fire pit, it's also good for public campsite. Very nice to see the fire all the way around. It has it's place.

I have a lot of deadfall in my yard, and drying it and storing it for use in the fireplace the next winter was not keeping up with the supply. The firepit on the patio is the perfect solution, and every evening burns a wheelbarrow full of deadfall. The low fan speed is good for most burning, but the higher fan speeds work well for wet wood. I love it and use it most evenings.

Works well. Item is smaller than it appears to be in various pictures. Very economical in terms wood burn rate, and easily controlled. Mesh allows you to see the fire, but also blocks most of the heat that would radiate outward- not great if you want to stay warm, but fantastic if you want to pick up the fire and relocate to another spot. Cooking grate is very light duty, will likely have a heavier gauge one fabbed at a welding shop when this one burns through.
