charging issue

Pocket Size Sunlight

I have been using a BaseLantern XL for awhile and really like the light diffuser on it but at times it is too big. When I saw that BioLite made the SunLight with a similar light diffuser, I bought a couple to try. It is small enough to fit in your front pocket but still puts out a nice diffused light that can fill a room. It has multiple brightness settings for white which can allow a fully charged SunLight to last from 7 hours all the way up to 50 hours. I wish it allowed you to adjust the brightness when in the color or party mode. The instructions are in a very small font and are not the easiest to follow but once you figure it out, it is easy to use. In comes in a demo mode. To exit this mode, hold the power down for 8 seconds, then release it. Hold it for the whole 8 seconds and not when the light turns off, otherwise it will still be in demo mode. One click to turn on in white mode. Then hold down the power button to adjust the brightness. Nice feature is that when you turn it back on, it will be at the same brightness level. Click the power button twice to enter the color mode. Then press and hold the power button to set the color you want. That will be the selected color until you choose another. I like the battery level indicator but it is too bright when in a dark room. It flashes green, yellow, or red a second after turning it off to tell you the battery level. It will automatically dim itself when the battery gets low. Emergency kit must buy.

A lot of light in a small package

I purchased the 4 pack of SunLights. The lights are small but put out a lot of light. It fits well in your hand and will fit in a pack pocket. I like the light configuration to be able to change colors like the base lantern.
I gave it 5 stars, but a small improvement that could be made is to give the red light the ability to be set to strobe as an emergency light. The ability to solar charge is great so you don’t have to carry extra batteries for the light.

Simplicity Mastered

The SunLight is very lightweight and compact in size. It’s 100% business no wasted space. The front projects light, the back absorbes it. Battery status is indicated automatically and there’s one button.
It seems to charge faster than promised but I haven’t run completely down yet. To recharge I aimed one slightly advanced of the sun and it was fully charged when I returned to move it a couple hours later. On a sunny day the SunLight will fully charge aimed in the general direction of the sun.
I recommend you buy four and give one to a friend!

BioLite hits another one out of the park the SunLight

PROS- SunLight is better than an ice cream sandwich. What more could you ask for small, lite, packable, bright light for those dark nights and the best of all it is charged by the sun. Amazing little light with kick stand to hold the angle with a integrated sundial needed to grab onto the sun for your night time use. Party mode takes you back in time to the day when life was free. The campsite will be active as you are dancing around the FirePit another great product to come out. 50 hours of runtime is incredible for free energy. Another nice feature is when you turn it off it flashes the different color light green meaning you still have plenty of energy to red that you better find some sun or pull out your charge 40. This is the little sister to the big brother BaseLantern XL.
Cons - Living in Nothern Michigan the sun likes to hide in the winter time but I just pull out my charge 20 or Plug it into an outlet. When you turn the light off it is generally dark and the green light flashes very brightly 2 time. It is hard on the eyes even though I like this feature and would like to see it revised to half the brightness and have it come on and slowly faid out one time in the same amount of time the 2 flashes.
All in all this little packable light is a home run. Thank you for the opportunity to review SunLight before it was released. In the future I would like the opportunity to review another great product you plan on coming out with.

Love this little light!

I have loved all of the products I've gotten from this awesome business! I run a small hobby farm in Connecticut where the winters are cold and the sun sets around 4. Not only are this light and my other camping light I got from this company (PowerLite) durable, withstanding more than a few drops in the barns and stomps of a goat hoof or two, but the light is bright enough to help me work through my chores and lasts long enough so I don't have to recharge it regularly. I haven't gone camping with this new one yet because it is freezing up here but I have used it at night to read in bed and its brilliant. Great products, I have never been dissatisfied. Thank you Biolite Energy!
