these lights don't work. They change color and then turn off, no matter how long I charge them.

Terrible - I am returning them - I wanted it to work so badly - followed directions held it down for 10 sec as it was “very important” per the insert directionsn and still after being charged it never worked - I got four of them and I have to return them all - super sad

Camping In Your House

A few years ago we had a power outage during the winter. I've owned battery operated and kerosene lanterns. When its freezing in the house the cold freezes kerosene so the lanterns can't light anything. Also they are not bright enough. Battery operated are bright enough arctic air will diminish battery power too. Ask you automobile about that if you live in the mid-west or eastern seaboard. This little ditty seems to be the answer. I've had it for a bit longer than a week. Most days have been full sun to charge them by. I have not been able to get them charged enough to have their battery beyond 50%. Nonetheless the illumination is excellent.
Otherwise the USB charge is better. I've use it to read at night in bed instead of using the lamps. As a prepper expect me to more. And try other Bioliteenergy products.

It's a great little light. I haven't had a chance to actually see how long the sun takes to charge it., I've used it for backpacking and car camping, it lights up the tent like a lantern. I just wish it had a place to charge a cell phone.

I was given this, opened it and pressed the button to operate, now it's stuck in permanent party mode, I cannot believe there isn't a simple override for this. I read the instructions and apparently you have to hold down the on button for ten seconds on initial use? That's fine but why not have that on a sticker on the light itself if it's not built in with an override function? I tend not to expect to read instructions before switching on a torch.

I usually love, love, love BioLite products. This time I ordered a couple of lights for my camping family members for Christmas - thought it would make a great gift. Unfortunately, it took from November 26 to December 21 to receive them (so no time to ship to family) and the product itself is less than spectacular. Sorry BioLite - I'll think twice before ordering again.
