Think no more, just get it!

this usb type-c and type-a combo flash drive is the best of its kind. the read and write speeds are exactly as quoted by samsung. the drive itself is very sturdy and elegant-looking. the fact that it has a separate type-c to type-a converter intelligently attached with it makes it super useful. i use it to transfer data between my pc, ipad, mac, and my samsung phone as well. high speed with super portability, what else do you need? so think no else and get this drive.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome product but the 256 was configured as 32..

I had bought the 256 USB C flash drive last year and finally got around to using it.
It worked and moved the files but...found it was formatted to 32GB. Checked the label and the order, I had ordered the 256 correct and label matched 256 as well.
Tried to check size through explorer and tried to reformat but still was only 32 GB.
Used my expertise and used command prompt and found yes it was 256 but it was only portioned to 32GB and had to erase partition, create new, did a full format and then got it to work with the full storage as intended.
Works great but a little upset at this mistake on the company's end.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It may be that your drive is in FAT32 format which will result in your drive showing only 32GB. The FAT32 format is used in order to maximize compatibility with older devices that don't support exFAT or NTFS. Formatting your drive as exFAT or NTFS may resolve this issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this as a quick way to transfer files from my phone to the computer (and vice versa). Overall this is a good value. File transfering is quick and easy with only one issue that's a nuisance. Too many parts. There are three parts to this usb stick, and on a couple of occasions I lost the top cover in between the recliner. There should be a way to tether all of the interchangeable parts in order to keep them from getting lost. Overall, this is a helpful usb, especially when transferring from android to a macbook. I would definitely purchase again if they updated the design.

Really slow write speed

I have got a Sandisk Pendrive that has a write speed of about 50-70. It's not evern 3.1, so I thought that this Samsung 3.1 pendrive will be able to deliver faster speeds. Ohh I was so wrong, tried to put some files on it and THIS PENDRIVE HAS 20MB/s speeds. Don't buy this if you need a fast pendrive, the read speeds are great anyway.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

lost all my files, not sure why or how, always "unmounted" and never had an issue until now. used a gc on this garbage too.
can't ever trust this product ever again!

slow write speed

this has slower write speeds than another samsung USB-C key (no longer sold on the website) but had only 64 GB max.
On different machines USB 3.1 capable, the best write speed this unit delivers is in the range 48-53 MBps. The previous unit showed 135-142 MBps while writing.
As far as read speed goes, it is so and so at 130 - 145 MBps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
