Great Headphones, Great Ear Cushions, Poor Design

I have had these headphones for over a year now and the ear cushions have lasted much less time than the ones on my Bose OE2 headphones that are now retired. The finish on the cushions is flaking off and the plastic rim that keeps them attached is tearing larger every day. When this began I took the ear cushions off to get the serial number for my headphones but the sticker is worn off inside the ear piece. The cushions were terribly difficult to remove and reattach and I fear that the expensive replacements will be difficult as well. To top it all off, the replacements are on back order and I cannot even get them for one to two months now. This is all very disappointing considering this is not my first pair of Bose headphones, and the older model lasted way longer!

Excellent sound quality, POOR earphone cushions

My brother purchased these smaller sized headphones for myself and the larger size that don't touch the whole ear directly for himself. We are bose enthusiasts and since he is in the hospital we use the wireless headphones to listen to music together and watch movies on the laptop. We wanted the excel sound quality we expect from doing these things at home without disturbing other patients- we like things loud! We even watched a concert live that our friends were at and it sounded like we were there with them. Sadly, this is the first product we've ever had any issue with. My headphones started to gradually flake black stuff off and I just lived with it for a while- then the ear cushions began to detach from the plastic and yesterday the one cushion fell off- the other is still hanging on but will soon go. My brother's pair (a different style) have had no issues. I don't have a bose store here in hawaii and am not tech savvy so I am afraid ordering replacement cushions online and waiting to have them shipped out here might not work and be a waste of time since they've detached. I always place them in their case when I am not using them- I take care of them and am very surprised at a bose product with this poor of quality. I also don't want to reorder this product because it seems like this is a recurring issue in reading reviews- which is very sad- and the sound is still pristine- the larger size aren't as comfortable on my head so I hopefully don't need to go to another brand for the proper fit. I still love the sound quality of Bose and don't think it can be beat- but if they can't be repaired I sadly will have to look for another comparable wireless option. Ear cushions disintegrate

I wear my on-ear soundlink to watch movies & listen to music around the house. They sound great, but the cushions are just awful. The leather started pealing off pretty quick & also the cushion inside of them is always crooked & bunching up...which makes for a not so comfortable listening experience. Again, great sound...but less than ideal ear cushions

Headphones are awesome but the ear cushion is bad

I love the headphone for its nice and crisp sound but the cushion is not good. I hardly used the headphones and there is already wear and tear. Now I cannot use the headphone in public place to avoid the embarrassment

Love the headphones, but the cushion has fallen

I love my Bose headphones, and use them gently. But after awhile, I'm at the point the cushions are falling off and the skin is peeling. I can't use them anymore, because the cushion won't stay on. I'll have to switch to my Plantronics Bluetooth Focus ones for now until I figure out how to replace this problem.

Great Headphones

I love the headphones, but the replacement ear cushions suck to replace. The cushions I had weren't all that bad yet, if I had known what I was in for I wouldn't have ordered the replacements yet.

Great sound works on all devices, but the cushion

Had less than a year and was so happy as my first Bose product. Easy to connect with virtually any device I own. Use it to watch video on my phone, listen to spotify and even while playing video games. Until I noticed the ear cushion is breaking off. Came here and looks like owners have the same problem, too bad really think Bose have great quality products.

Cheap ear cushions

I got headphones for Christmas 2014. In less than two years my cushions were coming off. I only use them at home to watch movies on my laptop, and that's only a 2-3x/week! I did the best I could with the flapping cushions until I finally broke down and bought a new pair and had them installed January 2017. This time they lasted less than 2 years! By Christmas 2017 the left cushion starting coming off, again. I now have to buy another pair of cushions. As much as I love my headphones, I'm tempted to buy Sony headphones and not have to keep spending money on ear cushions indefinitely! So frustrating, especially because I have to buy the whole set of cushions, and I don't know much longer the right one will hold out.
