[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as we received this model engine kit my grandson and husband opened it up as the excitement was just too much! Everything that you need to put it together is included~all that is needed is 2 AA Batteries as even the screwdriver is included. My grandson had so much fun learning about each piece as it is modeled just like a real engine. After a few hours they had it put together~Hooked it up to the battery pack and everything worked even the lights! Great weekend project for sure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an amazing "toy." We gave this engine to our 10 year old and he has played with it for days. It really is a stem toy--although we have had to assist him as you are building the engine, he is learning and enjoying the process. I love that when he builds this engine it ignites him to research real life engines of other cars! This kit is great for encouraging attention to detail, patience, and pride in your child. I recommend this for both boys and girls, it is also a great gift for the many birthday parties you are sure to attend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves to help his dad out in the garage, fixing and maintaining the four wheelers and tractors, so why not get him an engine on his own that he can do stuff with? He absolutely loves it and I quite often find him working on it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband was super excited about this toy. I think possibly more excited than my son. This was a super cute, fun, and educational way for them to spend some time together that didn't involve video games. They had a great time putting this together and then my husband was able to explain and demonstrate how engine's work. It was really able to click in my son's mind and he was excited to learn something new. I've also learned someone new because my little boy keeps talking to me about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model engine was a lot of work for my 8 year old son at the beginning. He struggled with how many pieces he needed to remember to put in. My husband helped him at the end and it was so much easier for them together. This engine once completed was super cool! It moves and has actual working LED lights. It was so awesome to see everything once it all came together. Also makes an awesome display piece now in my sons room.

Fun Project

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kid’s model engine kit was the perfect project for my husband and 11year old grandson. My husband has enjoyed working on cars his entire life. This kit provided the opportunity to teach our grandson about building an engine. The kit requires adult supervision but that’s where the fun team work comes in. I like how it was a different type of STEM project than what you usually find. Great memory maker too. All pieces were included. Good quality. Nothing broke while assembling.

Cool idea, better for 10 and up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were really excited to do this alongside our 8 year old. He bailed within 10 minutes of beginning the project. I think it was just too complicated for him. To sum it up here are our pros and cons:
Pros:
1. It’s a cool idea and you get to learn about
2. Our friend (who knows about cars) let us know that the lights provided show where the combustion is happening in the engine.
3. Once it was finished, the kids were excited to see it work.
Cons:
1. The screwdriver that is provided is too small to have the proper leverage for an adult but especially a child. We ended up using our own tools from home and they worked much better.
2. The directions were a little unclear in certain parts; for example, the section where it told us to place the pistons.
3. We had to use zip ties so the motor was held on tight enough to not skip (see the picture)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This took a while to put together, and we did it over the course of several sessions with my 11 year old son. It's not difficult, it just opened up the door to discuss in greater detail the individual components and the job they each perform, and how it all works together. The multi sensory approach to actually building the engine helps us (yes, me included) remember everything too.
