Great kit, fun to build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a gift for my 7 year old who is very interested in engineering and models of various kinds. While he needed help putting it together, it was a very enjoyable process for him and his dad. Good instructions, and everything you need is included. The clear design means you can see all the components working which is his favorite part. This is a fun kit and great for kids interested in STEM. We haven't had it very long so I can't rate the durability / longevity of the kit, but overall I would recommend it.

Great learning toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son works at an engine plant so I was so excited to get this for him and my grandson to put together. Although it was fairly easy to put together, it really teaches the child how an engine works. I love that this is a STEM toy as I feel that is important that kids learn while they are playing. This is a great hands-on learning toy that I would recommend for both boys and girls.

The clear design lets you see the valves open and close, spark plugs light up and the pistons drive the crankshaft. I love that it is educational. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a single mom my boys are always wanting to learn about man things and I do my best to teach them. This was something my 8 year old has been wanting for a very long time. It is so detailed and requires a lot of patience. I had to call in some help from Papa because I was not sure how things should look. Papa having knowledge of engines was much better at helping my boys put together this amazing "toy". I suggest having someone that knows what things should look like to help build this model. If I had not gotten help from my dad im not sure we would have finished this. My kids LOVE it and feel very proud when it was finished. We spent a week making this but im sure it could have been accomplished in a couple hours if we had the time to sit down and work straight through.

Works wonderfully

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really life like. My child had a wonderful time taking it apart and alesrnung the names. Seeing the tools and materials to learn how to truly build the engine was a great experience. This was also really nice as it did not have a ton of oil and grease and that part made it more comfortable for the child. It was a really nice learning experience and a wonder if stem engineering task. I am really happy with it and would recommend to others.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok when I first got this I didn’t think my child would sit down long enough to figure this out but once he got started he could not put it down until he figured out how to put it together and the joy when it was completed he just loves it and it keeps him busy and gets him to think I am so very happy with this I would definitely give it 5 stars.

Frustrating STEM toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was very excited about this project. He has done things like this before and the have been easy for him. We had difficult with the small screws and they stripped easily. A few times we had to backtrack on the instructions and we had to unscrew the screw a few times. They stripped and it was hard to get out. Also, the screws are so little, a few fell in parts that were tricky to get out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Gift for My Curious Grandson!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9 year old grandson is always interested and wants to learn how "things work", so when I saw this Discovery Mindblown Model Engine Kit, I knew instantly he would love it! This Kit has 104 pieces and is a mini replica of a classic 4 cycle gasoline car engine. All of my grandson's questions were answered by building this with his own hands and seeing how all of the parts work together to make the engine operate. He loves seeing the moving parts, (crank shaft rotates the pistons, valves open and close, belt moves the fan, spark plugs glow with LED light). The kit comes with all the tools and pieces necessary as well as easy to follow instructions and includes cables and a battery pack as an energy source. My grandson was helping his dad diagnose engine problems when he was much younger but now he actually knows how each part effects the engine operation! He is so proud to own this kit!
I would recommend this to a friend!
