Smart With Limits

Purchased this smart tv because my former tv lost the video. Selling points for me were 1080 resolution, optical audio, and an ethernet port.
What's good about this smart tv? Excellent picture display and color saturation. Speakers are quite good without sound bar. Love the drop down info bar. The remote also controls my Vizio sound bar.
Wifi is limited to 2.4G, and you cannot install additional apps. The USB port only reads photo, video, or music files. In addition, a mini keyboard or air mouse will not work in the USB port. Bluetooth support would have made up for the lack of a usable USB port.
Casting from my phone works but I have ethernet. My computer is attached via HDMI which is much faster than 2.4G casting. There is no web browser.
The list of Smartcast apps seems plentiful but many apps are missing. I have an android tv box on an older tv that I can customize with the channels and apps that I actually use. Finally, there is no way to install vpn software for streaming.
If you haven't cut the cable cord, this tv is good. I opted for a refurb in my price range and got a few of the specs that I wanted.
