Good display, smart TV & remote below par

Good: I’ve had this set for just under 2 yrs. Paired it with SB-36512 sound bar. For the price point the display is very good, no issues there. Connected to cable box using their remote, it’s a good experience and hard to beat for the money. Bad: Single remote is supposed to control TV and SB when run off ARC input. Sound bar inexplicably just turns on in the middle of the night. Common problem, no remedy worked so disabled ARC & had to use 2 remotes. Cut the cable & went to Smart TV - power-ons in middle of night went away, but the SmartCast home screen and app loading performance is way below what I get on other brands in my house that use Android and Roku as the OS. Remote is not backlit and button layout makes it hard to use - not a good remote. Obvious problems with NetflixTV on Vizio platform - jerky performance, acts like its buffering on both WiFi and Ethernet. As a TV, I recommend this model. As a SmartTV, not so much.

Poor Sound, difficult to use remote.

Very poor sound, very tinny and hollow. I have other small TVs with much better sound. The remote is difficult to use. The numbers are so small, they are difficult to enter. It makes it worse when the response time is delayed, therefore entering the same number several times not realizing it was entered. There is no favorites button to assist in channel selection. Our cable has a 4 or 5 digit with a dash in to select channels making it very difficult with this remote. I tried to get around the sound issue with external speakers. But, I could not control the volume with the tv remote. It says i should be able to with audio set to external speakers and variable output, but that did not work. On the good side, it had a nice bright and sharp picture and came with several nice and useful apps preloaded. It connected to the wi-fi and cable very easy. I returned it and will probably avoid Visio products in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our SmartCast TV's also work with the VIZIO SmartCast Mobile App which acts like a secondary remote that some customers find more intuitive and easier to use.

Easy layout!

I bought this tv a few weeks ago and while I love it there are some complaints I have. Firstly the tv is slow, in order to get where I want I have to click the button multiple times and wait a bit for the tv to catch up. Secondly on the app YouTube the tv will turn the entire screen black and on play sound after a few minutes.
I would recommend this to a friend!
