strange Interaction with another tv

Good picture. Use the tv in the kitchen off of an hdmi splitter which goes to from my receiver to living room Panasonic tv and this tv. if both are on and I turn off the Vizio, it shuts off the Panasonic, even if turned off manually. The only way they are hooked together is through that hdmi splitter. Also, universal remote codes for functions such as off, on, hdmi1,2 do not work if rv has been switched into smart cast mode.
I would recommend this to a friend!
