Some design and feature questions

It would be great having a headphone jack on the end or the front of this soundbar.
My Vizio TV and soundbar are mounted on a metal rack.The TV legs are installed and the set is on four bricks The soundbar is installed and working according to the instruction manual. The question is would the sound in general improve if the soundbar were mounted on something solid instead of an open metal grid?

My wife bought this TV in Jan. 2019 as a raffle gift for my kids pre-wedding parties. We won 2 cheaper 55" TVs at a party and decided to keep the 40" Vizio for ourselves. Fast-forward to Dec. 2021... I slit open the 'NEW' TV and started the set-up procedure until it got to the point where it asked to update the firmware on the TV. It is now in a virtual spin trying to update. Tried store and VIZIO support but no one would help me. Since it is past the stores 90 days and the mfg. warranty has ended I am left with a TV that still has the protective plastic on the screen that is unusable! I was always a big fan of VIZIO but I am skeptical now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Has everything I need

It's a pretty good tv! Small and good quality. Sometimes there's trouble with feedback, SmartCast will lag when I use my remote, and sometimes it won't respond at all. All the apps once you actually get into them work fine, along with things like external consoles.
I would recommend this to a friend!
