Love the features-Meets all our needs

The fridge so far has met all of our needs. My favorite feature is the hot water option. I also love that the water and ice maker has a large opening for taller items. So far our food is staying much fresher than it did with our old Kenmore fridge. Tons of space and easy operation. Like others, it is louder than our old fridge but that doesn't bother us. For a family of 6 this fridge is an excellent value

Love the hot water feature!

Great refrigerator/freezer, lots of space and really like the shelving adjustability. Favorite feature is the hot water feature, it's so great for making a quick cup of tea or hot chocolate!

Nice fridge ... with a few issues

We bought GE Cafe to get a 30" dual fuel double oven range. The refrigerator came along with the matched suite. It's a nice fridge, but GE Cafe doesn't offer some of the latest features ... additional drawers, door in a door, etc. It's also a bit noisy .. the refrigerator designers should take their cues from the dishwasher engineers ... I can hardly hear the dishwasher running. The noise isn't that loud but just annoying. My wife describes it as sounding like a motorcycle race, albeit at a distance! The other complaint is that cubes in the icemaker freeze into a block at the very top which stops production even though the bin is empty at the bottom. And the unit came with a manufacturing defect ... two screws holding the top ice / water dispenser trim on completely missed their associated holes allowing the trim to pull away from the refrigerator. Easily fixed but sloppy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost a Winner!

This is a great unit, BUT... GE needs to address a few issues. 1). Compressor is a bit noisy. In this day of.open concept kitchens, the low rumble could use some further insulation. It's borderline intolerable. 2). Quality control could use a bit of improvement. When my unit arrived, I had to spend over an hour fixing door seals and cleaning up foam that was dripping out from the manufacturing process. Excess foam was damaging the door seals and leaving air gaps in the seals. It was quite a mess. 3). The freezer hinges are cheap and need to be greatly improved. This is a higher end unit and the freezer pullout system is extremely flimsy. I'm sure it will become a problem over time if you keep a full freezer worth of weight sliding in and out on a regular basis. 4). Water filter scam has got to go. Get rid of the RF ID tags on the filter system so other Non/less expensive aftermarket filters can be utilized if the owner so desires. Holding customers hostage for hi-dollar filters is just wrong.
On the flip side, it's overall a decent refrigerator. The cooling seems good so far. Water and Ice are decent.(purchased in February
2019). Time will tell...

Good product with one minor issue

Everything is good except for the external water dispenser. The nozzle starts to far outward and needs to be more inward, which is leading to spills for children using it. I would recommend they point the nozzle downward more or move it inward. It can be used, but our previous GE Cafe fridge was better.
