GE Cafe CFE28TSHSS--Makes a good first impression

I guess we've had this refrigerator for about six weeks now; so far so good.
The pros: This refrigerator is huge. The drawers are useful, and logically placed. The food I put in them doesn't freeze or rot (as it did in my last fridge.) I love the multicolored lights on the large drawer. The door shelves are fantastically deep--finally, I have a shelf that can actually hold all of the salad dressing bottles my family has opened. I also like the narrow shelves on the ice maker side--great place to store small items that tend to get lost. The freezer is fine, so far. Truthfully, it only holds some ice-cream, a few frozen dinners for emergencies, and a few packages of frozen chicken. As noted, they're all frozen, so that's the good.
Cons: I wish there was a way to set the amount of water I need and walk away, but unless the container is perfectly shaped I have to push the dispenser paddle. The ice maker capacity is small, but I knew that when I bought it. We don't use that much ice, and I prefer that it make fresh ice regularly. My thinking is that If we are having an event I can buy ice, I always have.
This is a lovely refrigerator. It's huge and well arranged. the exterior is attractive and the interior is practical. It satisfies my original requirements--the freezer freezes and the refrigerator doesn't (freeze). So far, I'm very pleased.

Spacious

Totally remodeled our kitchen two months ago. We love our large fridge with all the compartments to organize all of our food. One issue is the bottom meat drawer, would like to have had two separate drawers instead of one big. We have open both doors to get deli meat or cheese out of the drawer, otherwise it would receive five stars but I still love it!

Cant get it working!!

Bought this high end refrigerator as part of a GE upgrade option in y new home.
The hot water dispenser has not worked, ever.
Its been 2 months and 5 repair visits but still no fix.
also having issues with most all of the other GE appliances that came new, dishwasher soap dispenser does not open and microwave touch panel failed.

The feature I splurged on was the hot water dispenser. It is sub-par, Its only 10 oz and doesn't fill my favorite tea mug.

Superior to our former Side by Side

We have had this refrigerator for over four months. We very, very much like the French door configuration GREATLY improving space utilization and ease of locating items, especially with the great lighting. The bottom freezer is also easy to find things, similarly well lit. The hot water is a plus, although the next generation K-cup would be greater yet. For added freezer space, we preferred the single ice maker that came on this model and it is more than adequate supply of ice for 4 people at our use rate. My wife loves the chime sounds on the door alarms. The Advanced Water Filter was sufficient for us to no longer use a Reverse Osmosis under-sink system. The only feature we lost from our old GE Profile was the ability to walk away when the Precise Fill was filling a glass. You must stand there and hold the glass which is a pain. Noise doesn't seem to be too much, though some reviews complained. We had one repair call at no charge. The lower bin in the refrigerator section wouldn't stay fully closed plus the metal trim along the lower edge peeled away on one side. The GE repairman was outstanding. An improperly installed clip on the track was redone and the drawer closes. A replacement drawer is now on order for the trim. The upper hinge covers restrict setting things on top of the refrigerator, but it is advised not to anyway.

Fan failure in less than 3 months

Delivered February 16th, fridge does not cool due to fan failure that began on May 5th. Freezer still works, however deli drawer freezes instead of keeping at refrigerator temperatures.

Substandard products

We built our house 2 years ago and selected the GE Cafe Series for our appliances. We have been thoroughly disappointed. The microwave died after 18 months. The refrigerator lost temperature control after 6 months. The technician warned us of compressor fan problems and now at the 2 year mark, the compressor fan has died on the refrigerator. We paid a lot of money for these appliances only to receive substandard appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
