Ice maker is excellent

I bought my house with the appliances in it new house new appliances the handle already fell out the freezer door bending the freezer door disappointed in simple assembly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Cafe stainless refrigerator

Rough start

The hot water dispenser did not work from the get go. After multiple calls to GE and multiple repair visits it apparently has been fixed. Purchased on 10/0917 and finally fixed on 01/23/18. Not very impressed with how long it took to resolve the issue and my biggest question is why is a brand new appliance needing repair if it’s brand new. I’m hoping I did not get somebody else’s return. There’s no way to verify this. Overall the fridge is very nice and ample. Love the lights. They point straight into the fridge, so it’s not blinding when you open the doors. The stainless steel body is beautiful. No place for magnets, just on the sides. Please buy a stainless steel cleaner, it’s a must. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the hot water malfunction. I am a frequent coffee and hot tea drinker, this is why I chose this model. It takes a couple of minutes for the hot water to dispense, 10 ounces at a time. Unfortunately, this unit does not have auto fill, which means you cannot walk away while filling your water container. I’ve already had to order a water filter. We drink water and use ice constantly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor quality

Loose handles.Wavey stainless dents in doors. Freezer door feels loose and wobbles opening and closing. Replacement door dented.Replacement refrigerator door wave and dented.Still waiting for another door to be replaced.Storage shelves odd set up.

Has lots of space

Be aware that the dimensions of the refrigerator do not include the hot water nob. It sticks out 1/4 inch from the front of the unit. When we measured our doorway it would just fit through according to the published measurements. Had to notch the door jam to get the nob through the door.
