Good fridge, mine has issues

Overall I like the fridge - good layout, lots of room, controls on the front pretty straightforward. However although I just got it, I’m already having problems with the freezer door randomly complaining it’s open (when it isn’t and the fridge hasn’t been touched for a long time. Service. Coming to look - May be a sensor.

Less than 2 months broke

I have had the fridge less than 2 months and the main motor went out. Repair man was here over 2 hours and had to tear the back of the fridge apart. He said this is a common Cafe’ model problem!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cheap!

My refrigerator arrived dented in 2 places. The inside drawers are a very cheap plastic. The hot water dispenser is so slow and the voice keeps repeating the same message the entire wait. The ice dispenser is so loud it sounds like a yard blower. The ice cubes are small and and holds very little. All in all this is the worst refrigerator I have ever purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Compressor issues and terrible service times

Purchased this fridge in May of 2022 for a kitchen renovation and had it installed in September of 2022. After working great for a few months, the compressor failed in May of 2023, just out of warranty. Tried to schedule an appointment with GE through the online service portal, which was promptly canceled saying they couldn't come to diagnose a no-cool issue for 2 weeks. So 2 weeks later and purchasing a spare fridge to prevent all our food from spoiling, GE tech arrives and says the compressor is broken and needs to be replaced. Wait another 2 weeks for parts to arrive and have them installed. After the install, the fridge works most of the time but is very loud. When we first bought it, it was whisper quiet and now it just sounds like boiling water all the time and the compressor noise is significant. Called GE to have it serviced again for the noise, waited 2 weeks for the tech to come out, only to have him put some tape on the cooling lines and leave. Didn't help the noise and have been told this is now considered normal operation. Tried to have a tech come out again to document the issue and report back, but had the tech cancel saying there was nothing he could do. So now I'm stuck with a fridge that makes a lot of noise and sometimes doesn't cool properly and there is nothing that can be done because its considered "normal". For such an expensive fridge I expected to not have these issues and am incredible unhappy with the product and the service that has been provided. These seems to be a common theme with many of the resent reviews here.

My favorite thing is the matte white finish. It looks so sharp with the metallic pulls. I know I am going to love the hot water feature this fall/winter for a quick cup of hot chocolate!!

Great Features

I had the unit installed last week and just called in a service call for the ice maker freezing up twice since I received it. The call in service line is a very long aggravating process. Online is not as simple as they state. It will be a week before they can get a repair person out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

High tech fridge!

Biggest French door refrigerator Cafe makes, beautiful Matte Black finish with brushed black handles. Plenty of space, can fit a large pizza box inside! So quiet you can’t hear it run, and the hot water dispenser and wi-fi using the app is slick!
I would recommend this to a friend!
