We love it!

The Matte Black looks great in our kitchen and we love the hot and cold features of the water center. It has a pullout shelf for filling bigger pitchers and the precision fill setting lets you know exactly how much water you’re getting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got the fridge for the hot water dispenser feature..love it! my only regret is I did not get the built in coffee maker. Overall this is a great fridge

Nice Freezer and Water Dispenser

We've had this refrigerator for about 1 month. We love the looks and style of it. We had a side-by-side before this one so we are getting use to having to open 2 doors often to get to food in the refrigerator. The deli drawers and veggie drawers cannot be accessed unless you open both doors. Also, the shelves are short and its difficult to even get a container of milk on them. The water/ice dispenser is nice. We don't use the hot water dispenser that often. It's slow to get water and only dispenses 10 oz at a time; however, it's probably faster than a microwave or on the stovetop. We don't think there is an alternative to the French door design and we were tired of the side-by-side. Maybe some day they will build a better mouse trap. Overall, we are happy with it. The good outweigh the bad.

3 inherent issues to know about before purchase

We bought 3 Cafe appliances a few weeks ago. Our home is older and it required the installers to take the doors off of the refrigerator to bring it into the house. This caused one door to be out of alignment with the other- a problem that was fixed when installers came back. I was concerned that the crooked door was responsible for the bottom edge of the left door hitting the wall upon opening. The problem was not fixed after realigning the door because the wall is out of plumb and there was not enough space for the doors to open fully. Buyer beware that because of where the axis of the door hinge is placed and the depth of the doors, you will still need additional clearance space to fully open your door beyond the measurements of your refrigerator space- an issue that was not explained by my salesperson and not correctly examined by me!
Secondly, I was dismayed to find that the doors only swing to about 130 degrees. They do not swing fully open to 180 degrees. There is no adjustment to the door stop. I cannot pull the produce/meat drawers out of their compartments without either taking off the door shelving or dismantling the whole shelf on which the bins hang. This makes washing the drawers and walls more difficult.
Finally, the water/ice maker in the door, mandatory for my family, is very loud. We were excited to get a new refrigerator because our old one was so noisy. This one is much louder. The service person said that because the freezer is on the bottom, the compressor has to work harder to move cold air up to the door to keep the ice frozen. So the compressor runs almost continuously to perform. The ice storage also is smaller on the in-door model than what we are used to. That said, I love the big open freezer on the bottom of the appliance. It is so much easier to reach for and see items compared to our old side by side.
I am very happy with the matte black finish- no fingerprints, easy to clean and very attractive. I love the hot water feature in the door. So extravagant! It takes a few minutes to warm the water initially and only pours 10 oz at a time- less than the size of a normal mug. But the second heating is much quicker than the first one of the morning.
I won't return this appliance because I love my Cafe induction range and microwave as well as the finish on all the appliances. The induction cooking surface is so easy to clean and a great feature about the oven is that the metal shelving is coated with a finish that allows you to leave the shelves in place while using the self-clean feature.

Stylish, cavernous space, easy interface

I bought this as a replacement for a refrigerator made by another company that failed. I was looking for something to complement the other appliances and I discovered the Café line of products. I was drawn to Cafe because this brand offers a 5 year warranty on the sealed system, which isn't as common as one would think. As I began my search for a replacement, I was immediately impressed by how stylish it is and also the cavernous space inside both the fresh food and freezer sections. After owning it for a full month, I can say that it performs very well. It's extremely quiet, even when the ice maker is dumping ice into the reservoir. The LED interior lights are evenly placed and make a huge difference. The on-screen interface is very simple and easy to use. One thing to note is that the doors are heavy and given the tension on the hinges, it requires a solid push to close them; these doors are not easy to slam shut, which is actually great. The "nice to haves" are the WiFi connectivity and the hot water maker. It does take quite some time for the water to heat up. One bit of advice is to use the Cafe App to heat water in advance of when you want it. I don't see us using the hot water maker very often though. In summary, this is a great product and I'm very happy with it!

We've had our Cafe refrigerator for 2 weeks. Everything works well and it looks sharp. The only thing I don't like is the excess insulation appearing around the door.
