This is the second cafe of this model. First one delivered was dead on arrival. Ice machine on the second refrigerator makes about 12 cubes of ice every 6-8 hours. Happy the store we purchased from is allowing us to exchanged the model out for something completely different. I'm sure Cafe makes great refrigerators, this model is not one of them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing

Nice features. However broke wirhin the first week. GE’s solution was to fix and claim to have done so after 5 tech visits and 4 different parts ordered, although we told them we wanted a replacement.
No one from GE had called to see whether we’re satisfied, so take that for what it’s worth.

Within 5 months ice maker gets clogged and freezer is not working properly with frost.

Bad Water

The touch screen did not work the date (10/4/23) it was delivered. Three weeks later it has not been fixed. Also, the water has a plastic taste even though many gallons have been run through the system. It appears to be related to the reservoir that holds the chilled water.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not cool down enough, thermistors off by +5°

I used a calibrated meter to check the temperature of the unit because the cheap thermometers I had were telling me it was not getting cold enough, even though the actual temperature shown on the unit control showed it was. I like my refrigerator to always stay below 38° because it makes all my smoothies last over a week. My meter shows that the unit is consistently 5° higher than what the actual temperature says on the control screen. The first pic was taken after the unit stopped cooling, the second was taken 45 minutes later when the unit started again. This means I cannot get the unit below 39° and it will not start cooling until it is over 41°. See pics. I hate to go my "grandpappy" here but I had a Kenmore unit that had no problems with this and still works, I bought it in 2002. There are some people here saying the unit keeps their stuff "cold!!" others are saying the opposite. If everyone is correct then the problem lies with proper testing of the thermistors or the circuit board they go to is not properly spanned from one unit to the next. I am giving this 2+ stars because, even though it is pretty, it is failing to perform the job it was designed to do which is keep the items at or below the FDA recommended 40°. The freezer temperature matches perfectly at 0°. I will be making a service call after I determine my Cafe dishwasher issues. I also have to more items to check, an induction cooktop and a French door oven. All of these items were purchased in December of 2023.

Beautiful, but ok.

The refrigerator is beautiful. A lot of customers don’t like the black sides, but it looks fine and doesn’t have to be covered. I had a door cubby crack the first day. Bummer.
