Excellent when it works!

BE WARNED: Products are not fit for purpose.
70 days without CCTV and counting.
I bought an SWWHD-Outcam in March. Stopped working in May. My property has been without surveillance since. Still under warranty. Case number: 00386994
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I won't recommend this product

So I have purchased the camera for almost 1 year already and it works fine until I update swann app and not it cannot get it to record when it detects motion. The camera will send a notification to my mobile however it doesn't record.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please try the updated version of our application. Please note that our Swann Security app for iOS 1.18.12 has been updated with the following changes and improvements.

Great camera and night vision

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great camera and night vision. Very good picture quality and night vision range. It is missing a couple of features though, like a SD card slot for local storage and power over Ethernet (POE).
It has a Ethernet connection along with WiFi, and I prefer to hard wire my cameras. But this camera requires a special cable that also carry power from the AC adapter, so if your house is prewired for Ethernet you still need to run the special cable that it comes with. This would not have even been an issue if the camera supported POE.
I had some issues pairing the camera with the app also. It requires your phone to connect directly to the camera that broadcasts its own SSID. All modern phones will connect to the camera, but then it will see that there is no internet so the phone switches back to the home WiFi. This happens fast enough to where the phone switches networks before the app can program the camera. Although, I eventually got it paired and all is working as it should.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setting up the camera was easy. However, the camera randomly shut off even though it is connected to my router... Now, the app...the app is not user-friendly. It glitches so much. They could do some work on the app.

Superior security camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had Wyze cameras all over my house for a while. But I decided to upgrade for a much more durable, higher definition, actual order camera. I put it head to head with the Wyze although they are pretty different. But clear the Swann won. The resolution of the video is far better, the camera is a better build quality. You can tell this is a real deal camera. The antenna are not cheap plastic. The cables included are also of the highest quality. Installation was a breeze since I was just hooking it up to power and WiFi to view from the app. The camera has never disconnected from my WiFi. The features work as intended and I’m extremely satisfied with this security camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great camera!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Swann security cameras that I have at my house; this one being no exception. It has a very sturdy all metal exterior and feels like a safe outdoor camera. Picture quality is great as always with a nice 1080p image. Be aware that these cameras do not record 24/7 and are only motion activated, but they do tend to pick up a lot and save the footage to the app. My only issue is with the app itself. Setup was a little bit of a pain, it was tough keeping a strong internet connection for some reason (I am using a 1 GB/s wifi). As well as the app just being slow and clunky. That's not to say the camera isn't excellent though! Definitely a more secure household!

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This outdoor security camera is really useful. We've had it set up for a little while now, and really like it. The camera was fairly easy to setup and connect to the wifi, and I find the video quality to be really clear, including nighttime video. I have found the camera to be fairly accurate at tracking motion outside of our house as well. We were also just away for the past weekend, and it was nice to be able to see outside of our house in the app, even when note home. I would recommend this.
