The camera does not record when motion detected!

So i have only just purchased the camera and i cannot get it to record when it detects motion. The camera will send a notification to my iPhone however it doesn't record who or what is there when motion detecting. Also i have experienced a big issue with the app trying to run smoothly because when i click on the camera storage option in settings the app will crash. The product itself is great but its a big shame that the App does not work properly. Not too sure why such a big company like Swann would get people to move to an app that isn't working properly and clearly hasn't been tested or trialled out by their own team.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your most recent experience with our Wi-Fi 1080p Outdoor Security Camera. PIR sensors work optimally when the camera is mounted around looking down somewhat and the subject of detection passes across their front. The more the object must "cross" the front of the camera the better the detection reliability. When placing your camera try to avoid situations where the subject would move straight toward the camera if possible. You may need to experiment with the sensitivity settings in the app and camera placement to get the ideal mix of detection.

Forced Software Update Broke Both Cameras

Do not purchase this or any Swann product. Having two of these cameras installed, Swann forced a software update to make it work with some new app they were releasing. This update completely bricked one of them, and made the other work for live-view only and would not record. Not to mention the software experience was awful and slow. I ripped them down, returned them to place of purchase and bought a Ring camera instead. Never returning to Swann.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Camera review

This is easier than their earlier cameras to setup and connect to the router. I used a wireless connection as it is being used as an outdoor camera and to cable would have been difficult. The instructions were easy to follow and the app once downloaded found the camera and was connected in minutes. There’s no instructions for the app but it is quite straight forward and logical to use. Has a good infra red image and is on a slow internet (4mb down and .8mb up) but still has a good streaming image with sound.

I brought it's camera around 2 months ago and could not fault it in any way. I was very impressed by the clear vision at night. I could even look at my home (Live) from Hawaii while on holidays Now looking at buying another camera for the back yard. Thanks Swann.

Wi Fi failure

I purchased this camera 12 months ago and it worked well initially so I purchased more swann products. I have just changed by WiFi router and am unable to to connect the camera since it no longer transmits a WiFi signal. The blue pairing light flashes but no Swann WiFi signal can be detected.I guess a component failure and quite disappointing. Unable to find a user manual to download and investihate further

It was fine until the latest firmware / new app. now it is junk and no technical help

installed it, it worked fine, 3 days later installed the new firmware and the new app. It is now rubbish. You cannot manually record any more - that feature has been removed. The playback is now jerky, goes fast, then freezes and runs for a much shorter time. too short to really use it. The live camera feed is much slower to load if it loads at all which it now often does not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
