Great video but a little hard to set up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This a very nice security system. I feel much safer having installed it around my house. That being said, the installation was probably the hardest part. Having to run multiple wires throughout the house was a bit of a chore and time consuming. Once that was done and I placed and screwed the cameras in, set up was pretty straight forward.
The cameras produce high quality imagery, better than anything I have had in the past. My only complaint about this is the night vision. With the camera in the front of the house, I get color, but the others are in black and white and slightly grainy, but I am still able to see the footage.
The DVR is pretty nice. It has tons of functions and settings to mess with. A little overwhelming at first...it took me a while to get the hang of it. I am not a fan of the corded mouse. I really would have preferred a wireless one, but it works well.
Setting up the cameras with the app so I could view the footage remotely was not easy. It took several attempts to get it going and I am receiving some false alerts.
The cameras are small enough to not look tacky on the house, but large enough to let people know they are there. They are solidly made.
Bottom line, this is a high quality system that takes some time to install and has a bit of a learning curve. It's wired so if the power goes out, so will your cameras and DVR, but so far I am pleased with this product.

Solid 4K basic unit

I recently purchased this unit and installed it last week. Overall instalation was relatively easy if you have good access to your roof space. I was able to mount the cameras and then insert the camera leads into the roof space which allowed me to connect them once I was in the roof space - so no need for a second person. The mix of cameras worked for my situation with the 2 cameras with spot lights set up nicely at the front of the house. I am still working through the alarm settings and am receiving notifications from activity outside the zones I have set up which is frustrating. The Swann Security App is pretty good and allows you to view your cameras relatively quickly. I have not delved into the search feature to find video clips but my initial look was positive with many search options available. This system can not be set up with Google assist as advertised as the Swann Security App is not compatible. Be aware that there is a similar Swann security system available as NVR which offers additional features such as microphones with audio and 2 way audio which this system does not offer.
Overall this is a good system to cover a standard 4 bedroom house. I just need to work on the alarm settings to get less notifications.

Nice system, good features. Setting up the network, alerts, etc. a bit labor intensive for one that is not a computer guru but was able to get through the process without too many expletives. Still learning my way around the system but so far impressed.

The picture quality is amazing. I went online and used there video tutorials to set it up. I set it up on a table in my house before i ran wires and mounted the cameras. Setup is simple if you follow the step by step video tutorial. The picture is amazing and the night vision is awesome! So far the few flaws that I have found are: 1. The instructions in the box are almost non-existent. 2. The mobile software for the iPhone is horrible. The image quality is horrible. I have a Nest camera and their mobile app stream very good! Why can't they make a better mobile viewing app? 3. The mouse has a cord. Come on people this isn't 2003. You can do better. 4. I also wanted to view my cameras on my laptop but they don't advertise a website or an app for that. I googled it and found it hidden away. This app is just as bad as the mobile app. I would think Swann could hire better software developers to create something that is user friendly and has a good quality stream (like Nest). But overall those few flaws do not warrant a lower rating. I would say it would be a 4.5 rating because of this inconvenient flaws.
