Great Unit!

I bought this unit 11/5/18 and had a friend install it. The product is of very high quality and the picture quality with the 4K is really good! installation was very easy and didn't take long at all. I had to purchase two additional 100' cables because of my home layout, but all went very well. I would definitely recommend this product!

The DVR/NVR is nice size; easy to place. The set up for the DVR & Cameras was easy. I gave 4 stars for the app; it is not user friendly and we are not happy when receiving notifications that you have to go through an entire process to see via the "playback" step. Other app we have used only required you to click on the email or push notification and it shows you the reason for notifying you. Picture is good on the main monitor but over the app not as nice.

Well worth the price

I bought this to replace my 5 year old Swann 4 camera analog system. That system was basically useless at night. The images were blurry and limited in range. After one of the cameras lost its infrared capability, I decided I wanted to upgrade. Since this new system used BAC cables, I thought I could save time by just replacing the cameras and the DVR. After setting it up I found that I was only getting 960P pictures on the 4 cameras using the old BAC cables and not 4K as with the the 4 cameras with the new BAC cables. A little research let me know that the new blue/ purple connector BAC cables were much higher quality than the old ones with the yellow connectors. So it was back to crawling around in the attic replacing the 4 old cables. WOW what a difference! These cameras show so much more detail during the day, but really stand out at night. They are like looking at a black and white TV. The range is further, the viewing angle is wider, and the detail is outstanding. I have to get a 4K TV to use as a monitor, but using google home, I can stream individual channels to my 4K TV downstairs.

Very clear video even with nightvision

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently got this 4 Camera 8 Channel 4K Ultra HD DVR Security System. It can detect motion and heat. So, it can detect cars and humans and send us the push alerts accordingly. These cameras are IP66 rated. So, these can be mounted outside as well and can withstand harsh weather like snow, rain and outside dust. It has very powerful infrared night vision capabilities and kicks off automatically when its dark. I love the fact that we can store the footage on the cloud storage such as dropbox. They provide 2TB storage but still we can not keep the files locally. So, we can feel safe in our house. Also, we can easily control this camera system with a phone app. Finally, we are loving it and we do not have any complaints so far. And yes, we already recommended this camera system to our family and friends.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No thermal detection

Not high resolution, no thermal detection as advertised.
Very simple cctv system, app is not good.
I wouldn't waste my money on these false tags.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The PIR sensors on each camera are equipped with sensors that are able to detect heat and motion. The recorder has 3 different settings for streaming quality; low, medium, and high. If you are having problems streaming you can lower the settings and test to see if it improves. Note that lowering the stream settings does not affect the quality of the recordings. I setup my system to cover all areas around the house, with 4 cameras, the system is easy to install after viewing the support videos, impressed with quality of the picture with the 4K camera's, its a great shame that picture via the App on my mobile phone is not as clear as you get directly on a screen, Good product slightly let down by the mobile app, Also would have preferred a solid state disc so that it minimizes any noise from the base station. I would still recommend it as its a quality product and easy to install.
