Better than expected

SO I have four cameras running at the moment - will deploy the other four later. Setup was pretty easy and largely didn't need the manual. Getting connected on the smartphone was as simple as installing the app then snapping a picture of the quickcode thingy. You need to be a bit nimble to get the BNCs connected at the back of the unit but that's a product of a compact box. The cables are long and should suit most homes. I found the actual cameras not so easy to mount but that was a combination of rubbish plasterboard, poor wall plugs and a desire to small the wall in with a sledge hammer (which I resisted). The adjustment screws are very tight initially but once loosened, the cameras could be manipulated quite easily. The plastic wrap round the extension wires was a pain as all plastic wrap IS. A pair of scissors would have worked better than trying to find the end and unwrap it all.... but that's just me. Overall, after about 4 hours use, I am pretty impressed. The D-LINK system they replaced was wireless but a continuous pain... These look to be very good.

First night I did a mock setup with wires running from the DVR unit (sitting next to the wifi router in our bedroom) under the rug to the front window, taped the camera to the blinds pointing outside (only worked in the pouch light otherwise I got an infrared reflection off the glass) and a second camera ran the wire along the wall through the kitchen pointing out the back door window same as the front. Worked great for a couple days till I had a day off to do a more permanent installation.
Here are some tips:
Plan on mounting the DVR away from bedrooms as it does make a little noise as it runs, like a fan or harddrive revving up.
I mounted the DVR to the wall behind the drawers in the hall closet. This way its hidden from intruders and any sounds from DVR are muffled. To do this I purchased 25' HDMI cable and CAT 6 cable that I ran from the closet under the house and back up to the TV and Router. Also i had a wireless mouse installed on the DVR that i use from the livingroom couch and view on the big screen.
Cameras were easily mounted under the roof eves and the wires easily fished through the attic vents in the eves then ran down through the closet to the DVR. I had a receptical in the attic that I used to power each camera.
Love the whole system so much the next day added on two more cameras 6 total w/room for 2 more some other day.
The home system works great on the couch with my wireless mouse, crystal clear images, tones of settings and options to program.
The app on my phone is great with remote viewing and push notifications when the PIR sensor detects motion.
With the push notifications I don't need to view the cam I can easily tell if someone is coming or going to the house by the order in which the cameras send notifications.
The app is not perfect a bit glitchy could have to do with my cell/wifi service depending on my location.
A couple days ago push notifications stopped working then I got home and finally received a days worth of notifications in 5 seconds (ding,ding,ding,ding,ding,ect.).
Still working on getting the push notifications to work again.
Also the DVR wont take my email address keeps saying username or password is incorrect?
Still for the price this is a great system and after a recent break into our house I definitely feel much safer for my whole family.

I got this last week to replace an older swann unit. Works great even with original cables. Manual could be more complete leaves a lot for trail and error. Password would be nice if it could be turned off. Homesafe view works well and setup was simple.
I would recommend this to a friend!

great system but the motion detection could be a lot better. This is my third system d1 1080p lite now this unit. Some times there is no motion detection and never a thermal indication. The firmware needs an update.
