Purchased this system having had a 960H system in place. I also purchased 2 Pro 1080ZLB Bullet Cameras which have Optical zoom. I will replace two of the kit cameras with these as want to focus down my drive to catch images that can be used for ID purposes and car registration numbers as the standard Cameras struggle to capture this detail from any distance over 3m to 4m. Camera quality is much better than 960h , certainly worth buying HD. Daytime quality is very good, night time is okay , better with more ambient light but in total darkness like a rural setting cameras would struggle but still better than the 960H. I'm not convinced about the Thermal detection against standard motion, my cameras seem to go off whatever and at night are no better than the standard 960h for false alarms. Daytime is better though . However has left me lacking confidence that they will record all movements as occasionally would not record when I walked up the drive. Been in a week now and seem to have settled down a little , have read the manual now but can't seem to find anything I missed or didn't know about setting the motion limits so time will tell. Recording to a usb seems a little odd, I seem to have to record each channel for the required time which is cumbersome , can't seem to record all channels at once and get them same footage. Can record Ch1 okay but all the rest are different times of night ?

The down side is that still gets false alarm signals for motion from tree shadows moving on the ground. Put a mask on the trees and bushes but can't put on ground as needs to detect motion in that area.
