Great machine, recipes need work

I've tried several of the recipes in the book so far with mixed results. I followed each one exactly, making sure to measure exactly and using a thermometer to make sure the liquids were at the correct temperature. The first one I tried was the Country White Bread. The dough was very dry and required several teaspoons of water. Even though all of the ingredients were all new, the dough barely rose. It came out heavy and dense, with no flavor to it. Also, I had chosen the medium color crust but it came out pasty white. I deemed it an utter failure.
I had better luck with the honey grain bread. The consistency was better and it rose more than the first loaf did. However, it the recipe itself had very little taste to it. I redid the recipe again, doubling the amount of honey and adding 2 tablespoons of molasses, which gave the loaf a better flavor. Overall, I give the bread maker 4 stars for ease of use, but the recipes in the book really need some adjusting to improve their flavor and consistency.

I have owned three bread machines and this one by Oster is by far my favorite. I used the same mix and made a loaf in my old machine and one in the new Oster on the Express cycle. Although the loaf on the Express cycle was smaller I loved the texture. I also made an Apple Cinnamon loaf on both the Express cycle and sweet bread cycle. I was worried the loaf would not come out on the quick cycle because you cannot add the apples after the mixing has started the way you can when making it on the sweet cycle. I added everything at the start and it worked out perfectly. I am very happy with this bread maker.

Pleasntly suprised, fresh baked bread thats easy!

This bread machine is far different than bread machines we owned 10+ years ago. This little device is nothing short of excellent! Whether you want to make home made bread from scratch or use a box mix from the store you can't go wrong with this machine. The bread turns out so great that our dog jumped up on the counter and stole and entire loaf that was cooling after it was just finished baking (true story)!
The little machine includes an owners manual is chalked full of recipes from simple white bread to a sweet dessert style bread. We experimented with both a light style crust and medium style crust - both were great Sourdough bread and Italian style came out fantastic (sourdough was our favorite). The buttons on the front are very easy to see and operate. The bread pan simply pulls out with ease and cleanup is a snap by removing the agitator inside the pan and applying some warm soapy water!
Don't bother with any other brand, this one has surpassed the test for us and we are excited to continue our baking!

Great bread maker!

I found the bread maker to be great and convenient in many ways my wife and I made the bread together and we found it very enjoyable and easy to use. The product itself felt very sturdy and made of quality materials. The overall design of the bread maker also was nice and fit in with are kitchen decor nicely. Finally every time we used the bread maker the bread came out amazing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Super Easy bread maker

I have been making bread for several years, and have always loved the process and the great taste of homemade bread. My mother taught me when I was young and have always made bread the old ways. When I started using this bread maker I thought I would hate it, because there is no "love" being put into the bread. I was totally wrong. I love the ease of use and the quickness of having great tasting bread. I was able to make bread in this machine on my first try without any issues, but so was my wife and my two oldest daughters ages 12 and 11. They have enjoyed making bread so much in the maker that they are going online to find new recipes to try daily. I am loving working with this machine and can't wait to continue working with it in the months to come.
*I did receive this product as a sample to review, but trust me I would buy this product again the day this bread maker stops working.

I was so excited when it arrived I couldn't wait to taste my own fresh baked bread. it comes with an instruction book that has some awesome recipes. So far I have tried the Whole wheat, Honey wheat and Potato bread. They were all better than I expected, and beats store bought anyday. I also tried the Red Mill bread maker packaged mix, it was a little dry, but I'll add more water next time. My kids thought it was neat to watch the machine kneading the bread. This bread with some sweet cream butter is great! Clean up is a breeze. You'll enjoy it! ****I was given this bread maker to sample ****

Very easy to use breadmaker. Multi-optional for different bread types, pizza dough or pasta noodles!! Easy to follow instructions with very little physical effort! Love this product!
