Worked Well...While It Still Worked

Had a new home built and this is the dishwasher the builder installed. After less than two years, it stopped working. We were given the run around on the replacement part from April 2022 until today November 2022. GE just informed us that the motherboard has been discontinued. I am in total disbelief and WILL not purchase another GE dishwasher.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only dishwasher I’ve ever had that rusted

The lower basket of the dishwasher started rusting after only 2 years of light use. We don’t run it every day - usually every other day or sometimes longer spans between use. The upper basket is starting the same thing! I have had other brands in the past that lasted for years and never had a rust problem. Wouldn’t buy this GE again.

Rusty baskets mar an otherwise good product

This dishwasher came with our home. After about two years of use, like other reviewers here, the coating on the baskets (upper and lower) started to peel and the rust set in. Now one of the prongs on the bottom has broken and the rust is getting intollerable. This has never been a problem for any other brand of dishwasher that we've used.
Is there a replacement program for these?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rusting racks

We just purchased a home, which is only 3 years old, ran our first load and noticed that the baskets on both the top and bottom have begun to peel and rust.

Clean but loud

Dishwasher does a fabulous job of cleaning and sanitizing dishes but it comes at a price. It is incredibly loud and with an open concept great room kitchen area I literally cannot do dishes if anybody’s here which makes it incredibly difficult when I have people over for the holidays and need to get a load running while we’re entertaining in the family room - we can’t hear each other talk over this dishwasher. It may possibly get relocated to our family cabin so I can buy myself an ultra quiet dishwasher for this entertaining space. I would not discourage anyone from buying this dishwasher, but I would encourage you to put it in a kitchen that is well separated from your entertaining space.

BOTH RACKS ARE RUSTY

We've had our dishwasher for 3 years and it works very well. I like the performance of the dishwasher. However, the racks have gotten extremely rusty, which is surprising because our previous dishwasher racks took almost 7 years before they became rusty. I'm sure no one wants to purchase racks every few years. I hope other parts of the dishwasher are not deteriorating as easily.

The racks are PVC coated. When loading the dishwasher, gently load your dishes. Ensure sharp objects (such as knives) do not nip the coating of the racks. Water will seep in and rust beneath the coating if they get scratched or cut.

Both racks Rusted away!

Got this with my new Lennar home have had it a year and a half and the racks have rested enough that I don’t think it’s safe for my family to have it or use it. GE won’t cover it.
