Less than 2 years old - Falling apart

This dishwasher came with our new home build, started leaking after about a year, we replaced the gasket, didn't help. Then the coating on the inside started wearing away, and pieces of the rack started rusting and falling off.

Hi there, and thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We sincerely regret that you have concerns over the quality of your dishwasher, and have also had trouble with it not cleaning your dishes properly. We know concerns like these would be frustrating to deal with, and we’d like to help.
We strive to create quality appliances using durable, built to last materials, and will report your concerns to our Design team for future review; we appreciate your insights. Regarding the trouble you’ve had with getting your dishes clean, pre-rinsing wouldn’t generally be necessary if you have a normal level of food soil. You may want to make sure you’re using the best cycle option (for example, the Heavy option would be best if you have an item with dried or baked on soil). You can also check that the filter isn’t clogged, and that the water temperature is at least 120 degrees F to ensure the best possible wash performance. Further troubleshooting tips are available on page 19 of your manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000239-1.pdf .
We hope that information is helpful, but if necessary our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737 and would be glad to assist. An appointment can also be scheduled at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm if you prefer. If you have any other concerns or questions, we are always happy to offer assistance. -Sarah@GEA

SIMPLE TO USE
on May 4, 2022

The dishwasher is simple yet works extremely well. Maybe too good as I have had new dishwashers before and some dishes state not to place on the bottom due to the heating element getting too hot for the dishware. Well, this washer does indeed get really hot which will definitely dry your load very well but melt the plastic.

Great dishwasher if it wasn’t broken
on July 18, 2022
Posted by: JRob59
This dishwasher was great for the first year and a half. Like many other reviewers, the control panel died right after the warranty expired. (Go figure) after spending countless hours on the phone with GE, they said they would come out to take a look. Sure enough the panel needed to be replaced and the parts are on back order for over 2 months. Given that, and how loud the dishwasher runs, we just decided to buy another brand.
It seems that GE is fully aware of the electrical problems in their dishwashers, yet do not fix them or take them off the market. My last review explaining this was deleted. So hopefully this one doesn’t either.

Lost power at 5 months, luckily there's a warranty. However I am now very concerned about the longevity of this dishwasher. Works okay and easy to clean.
