Wonderful compromise between gas and electric.

We purchased the rest of our appliances in the Profile series, but since they don't make a cooktop, we purchased this from the Cafe series instead. We really like the induction cooking and have been very happy with this appliance. The heat is instantly responsive and cooks more evenly than the electric cooktops that I have used in the past. I am not comfortable with gas and my husband is not a fan of electric, but we both agree the induction cooking is a great system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased my cooktop about two months ago. I really love it! I was used to cooking on electric but induction is much faster and easier to clean. Would never go back to electric

Glass top chips easily

I've only been using my induction cooktop for six weeks and loved it until last night. After drying a cooking pot, I was sliding it on the counter next to the cook top and it barely touched the front corner of the cooktop and the glass cooktop cracked. A 3 inch long thin piece cracked off the corner. It didn't even make a noise as there was only light contact with the corner. I am shocked that the glass is not more durable than that. Additionally, I am amazed that if it breaks that easily that GE continues to make it like this and that there is not a huge customer revolt. I now see why other manufacturers put stainless steel trim around their cooktops. So disappointed in this. The glass is very thin on the edge of the cooktop. GE needs to reconsider the design of this cooktop for true functionality of a real cook rather than just the looks of it. I love how this cooktop cooks, but because of this design issue I will not recommend this to anyone until they fix this issue.

Cooktop didn't work from day1. Waited 4 weeks to get it and now must wait another week for parts. Not impressed

Love love love induction.

This replace a 14 year old GE Profile smooth cooktop. I seriously considered converting to gas. But after doing some research decided to give induction a try. I love it! I love the instant heat effect of gas coupled with the smooth surface. The only additional expense was a set of good quality stainless steel pans.

Poor performance

Bought this product 16 months ago. Nice looking, loved induction cooking until it stopped working after about 15 uses. Noticed many others have same issue. Burners just turn off after about 10 seconds. Many others seem to have similar complaint. Product will be fixed at my expense, but too many have same issue, so there is obviously a manufacturing problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
