Water Boil Time!

This is our first induction stove top. Our beautiful gas stove finally gave up the ghost and I was hesitant to go back to electric. After reading up on the effects of natural gas fumes on the environment and in the home, we decided to try electric induction. So far, it has exceeded expectations. My main hesitation with electric was the slower rate of heating up vs. gas. You can put that concern aside, though! I have performed several highly scientific :) demonstrations for friends and family showing how fast a sauce pan of water comes to a boil. Starting with cold tapwater, tiny bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan literally in less than 30 seconds and 3–4 cups of water come to a full, rapid boil within two minutes. Once you are at a rapid boil, you can adjust the induction element up or down and the effect is immediate.
The only thing I miss about our old gas stove is that we could carelessly toss our favorite cast-iron cookware around on it without any fear of damage. The upside is, we got to get some beautiful, brand-new lighter weight induction compatible cookware, which was fun. The cast iron is still very much induction compatible. We just have to handle it very gently on the glass cooktop.
After a month of use, the induction stove top has far exceeded expectations.

Great cooktop, non-existant Smart-HQ features

This induction cooktop is great, amazing how fast it heats and the almost instantaneous temp control. I would rate 5 stars in this category.
Smart HQ or Smart-home features would get Zero stars. It has WiFi and BlueTooth capabilities, however nothing of any value has been implemented. You get an alert when turned on and you get to see what your temp controls are set at. That is it. It would be super nice and useful if you could interconnect to your Cafe microwave (CVM521P2MS1) and turn on the lights and exhaust fans when you turned on your cooktop. You need to implement Chef Connect functionality or the what I described on this cooktop.

Induction is the way to go!

We made the switch from gas to induction, and I’m loving it so far. This unit has intuitive and easy to understand controls. It is powerful, and also easy to clean. It looks wonderful in our kitchen.

Lovely and user friendly

I love the induction stove— it’s gorgeous, user friendly, and great to cook with. I was a bit surprised that sometimes it makes weird noises when it’s heating something up. Also the smart features aren’t useful unless you have smart appliances— I would prefer to not even have them those features at all. But overall I’m super happy with this.

Looks great, works great!

The cooktop was a perfect drop in replacement for our older GE radiant cooktop. It looks fantastic and cleans so easily. I love not having physical knobs to get in the way of everything. And is it fast? I put on tea kettle on for a test run and the installer asked me if I started with hot water when it started boiling almost instantly.

Great unit until it chipped!!

Unfortunately we chipped the corner of our cooktop! I thought the bevel edge was a nifty idea…but now I’m not so sure. If it wasn’t frameless it never would have chipped. Now I don’t know what to do, as it’s very sharp. I’m so sad!

Easy installation

I particularly like the control on the low end of the settings, especially the melt setting. Setting up the connection for the Hestan cue pan continues to be a problem.
