I bought the induction cooktop 2 months ago and have felt it is a great cooktop! There is a learning curve w the cooktop, it has very high heat and learning what the perfect egg setting takes a few tries. However, once you get it, the temps are consistent and predictable. It cleans so easy, has cool blue lights ( just looks neat) and keeps your kitchen cool. The price point is very reasonable for a 5 burner cooktop especially if you get the cooking griddle. I did have to. I did get new cookware for induction but the cookware cost was less than buying a new gas cooktop. I have transferred from gas to induction and could not be more pleased. I filled a pot w chocolate chips and put it on low and walked away and had melted not burnt chocolate!
Hands down, this is the most amazing appliances we have ever purchased in over 40 years! We just replaced an older GE Monogram radiant heat cook top. We love our GE appliances and always look to replace with the same high quality product. On top of it's look and functionality, the price through the GE store could not be beaten. Thank you GE for continuing to make high quality products that both look beautiful and can take the abuse. Well done!!!
My new induction cooktop is faster than any gas or electric option. It's instant on, quicker-faster to heat up, or to drop the temp to simmer foods, and is the easiest cooktop you'll ever use for clean up - you spill something, it doesn't cook - just wipe off because if it's no in the pot or pan, it doesn't cook. This is what New-advanced electric technology is all about!
Bought this to replace an old cooktop. I love the controls and how quickly the induction elements start heating the food. Three minor points kept me from giving it 5 stars. First is the unit hum rather loudly and you can hear the cooling fans too. Second the cooktop is broken down into 3 zones, if you use both elements in the same zone then power gets reduced. Not really a big deal as you can spread out to the other two zones and I'm unlikely to be have more than three things cooking at full power anyway. And Third the left side elements are only connected in that they have their power level connected. There is no bridge element so a large oval pan sitting over the burners will only heat on the ends, not in the middle too. Overall, very happy with the unit.
