Big mistake

My cook top has shards of glass on both sides coming off each time I wipe it. So if I don't have the wash rag covering my hand I get a nice sliver of glass in the finger!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glass cooktop hard to maintain

Beautiful and functional but extremely high maintenance; a single misstep will mar the glass surface permanently. Not recommended for kitchens with high volume, kids, or teenagers.
