My wife loves the induction cooktop

This is the next best thing to a gas oven. The cooktop heats quickly and the wife says she can control the cooking temperature much easier that our previous glass cooktop. We wish the cooktop included the Chef Connect feature that would turn on the light and fan on the GE Cafe Microwave. The Slide in oven provides this feature, but not the Induction Cooktop

Excellent Precision Cooking

The "burners" are super fast and responsive. The sync burners function is amazing to use a griddle on two of the "burners". I haven't tried the smart burner function yet, but I'm excited to do so.

Better than gas!

Great functionality Poor glass strength

Like other reviews , the beveled glass edge weakens the glass. This was caused from a pepper grinder falling and hitting the edge. I was so upset. Now I have to live with this crack for years to come.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our cooktops are made of a tough ceramic material tested to meet UL requirements for weight and impact. Those tests are as follows:
-UL impact test: a 2" steel ball weighing 1.18 lbs. dropped from a distance of 20". The UL impact test is equivalent to the force created when dropping a can of soup (12.4 oz) from a distance above the cooktop of 31" and dropping a can of corn (1lb. 4 oz.) from a distance of 19".
These would be minimums which the glass ceramic would withstand (these 2 food product items were chosen because they are so widely used & the heights were chosen to simulate an item being taken from cabinets above the cooktop and slipping from hand.)

Induction and wireless features

I bought this cooktop to replace a previous hybrid model that no longer worked. I love the induction features, but the wireless feature is not worth the extra price for me personally. The special pan that came with the cooktop can only be used with the wireless. It can't be used like a regular pan on one of the induction burners.
