Great cooktop!

We have been using our new cooktop for just one week and so far we are absolutely delighted with the induction cooktop. It heats up instantly and makes time spent in the kitchen enjoyable. We love the varying temperature controls and the ease of cleanup.

This cooktop replaced a Dacor gas cooktop. We hated the gas because it was difficult and time consuming to clean. As we explored options we realized that all new gas cooktops continue to be oppressively difficult to clean. We bought the Cafe to avoid that burden and we couldn’t be happier. Messy grease splattered meals clean up in less than two minutes with just a damp paper towel or a quick cooktop spray and wipe. Wow!
Finally, the best part of cooking with induction is the even distribution of heat to the cooling pan. There are no cold spots or hot spots, just easily controlled even distribution of heat.

You found your induction stovetop

Save yourself the burden of analysis paralysis as both me and my husband have already gone through this tedium. We both love this stovetop, end of story. We had to upgrade our electrical from 30 to 40 amp breaker but that is needed for pretty much any good induction stovetop. We are both 60 yrs old and had no problem with the bluetooth technology or learning the ways of a new heat source. Hopefully this model stays in the GM rotation.

works great but poor design protection of edges

Had to replace my previous cafe cooktop because a plastic glass fell on the edge and cracked the two left side burners. my new top still has this design flaw of no protection for the edges of the unit. Was told there isno edge protection available for my new unit, so I purchased a silicon cover for my cooktop to protect it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So Hot!

I purchased the GE Cafe 30" Induction cooktop CHP95302MSS to replace a 20 year old GE Profile radiant cooktop. This did require upgrading from 30amp to 40amp service, but this was worth the trouble. I did not have to modify my existing cut-out on the counter top.
The latest revision of this cooktop (late 2018) includes an updated display (white instead of blue) and a Hestan Cue 11" bluetooth smart fry pan. The smart pan allows you to use the Hestan Cue App, but also allows you to set a specific pan temperature from the cooktop itself. And it will hold that temperature. Neato.
As for performance, things get hot fast. It is actually pretty impressive, especially coming from an older radiant cooktop. Boiling water is no longer a chore. While cooking, if you drop the temperature or turn off the burner you see the results immediately. No longer do I have to move a pot off the burner when it gets too hot or I want something to stop cooking.
Overall I am impressed, and everything was reasonably easy to configure with wifi and bluetooth, though I did have to re-try some of the setup procedures.
The product does seem to deliver as advertised, though I was fearful enough of electronic failure to purchase an extended warranty.
The only thing that might annoy some is the vibration noises that can occur with pots/lids. This only seems to be an issue with higher power settings and is not necessarily constant. But the noise did scare my cat this morning. Think nails on a chalk board sound. My 2 cents.

Awesome Induction Cooktop

After induction cooking on a small. portable cook plate for years, when it was time to replace my regular electric ceramic cook top, I knew this induction cook top was the one I had to have. I am so glad I went with this cook top. Plenty of space and many options. The temperatures are precise and immediate, for the best cooking options. This induction cook top is everything a cook top should be!
