build quality is questionable

I found two problems during the installation. 1. The holes in the heat deflector did not match the holes in the cooktop. 2. The electrical wiring was two reds with black tape wrapped around one of the reds. (out of red wire?). Hope there aren't any other "shortcuts" with the appliance.

Enjoying our Induction Cook Top

It's our first induction - but love it so far! Easy to clean - After a few boiling water pots bubbling over or a few brunt bottoms of things we realized it's just really sensitive and it takes some learning so more just user error than anything. Really love the lock button feature so we can use the stove like extended countertops and without the buttons being sensitive.

I love my Cafe’ Induction stove top

We just remodeled our kitchen and I wanted stylish, quality appliances for our home. I have had an induction cooktop for 10 years and knew I’d wanted to continue. I am so happy we chose GE Cafe’, we also purchased a Cafe’ oven. A very satisfied customer.

I love this induction cooktop. Even and fast heating, easy to operate. It has a melt/keep warm burner, too. I researched these thoroughly beforehand. The only feature I miss from the one burner induction hotplate is the timer that affords auto shutoff.
The only con is that our wiring needed an upgrade as the house was build in 2003. Pricey, but worth it.

Not happy that i can't use the two left burners at the same time because the pots are both same size bottom (correct size for burners) but there is not enough clearance, so the top of the pots touch causing the burners to go off. not sure why they didnt leave more room just incase this would happen why do the burners have to be on top of each other? i love the smoothness of it, doesn't show prints and cleans easy.

Glass breaks easily

The corner of the glass has broken off, TWICE in one year. Both times they blamed us for it, even though GE did the installation themselves. Both times it broke by simply placing a baking sheet on the cook top, and both times by a 70 year old grandma so its not like it was hit hard.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
