Got the 20L capacity on Kickstarter launch, very robust and well built, kinda wished the internal was more spacious but there’s the 30L for that.

Excellent and reliable backpack

I have been using the backpack for seven years now and can only recommend it in any way. 20l was always enough for me. Many cameras have lived in it over the years, starting with a Konica-Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 5D up to my current Sony Alpha 7Cii with the 20-70mm lens. Next to it is the Tamron 50-400mm and in the lower compartment the Alpha 6000 with the 16-55mm completes my travel equipment. But the best things are the many small pockets in the left and right side covers, where cables, adapters, covers, filters, batteries and memory cards can be stored in large numbers. Even an iPad and MacBook can be stowed away with a little effort. And then there's room for a bottle in the side pocket! Since here are plenty of photos, I leave them out. And I can say: Everything works fine after 7 years!

The Tardis of Backpacks

I have the 20L everyday backpack, and at first sight I thought "I should have gotten the 30L". But then I started to use it, what a real surprise. I can fit 2 camera bodies and a heap of lenses and still have space for other kit. The accessibility of top, and both sides, as well as the back tablet or laptop storage makes using the backpack so easy. The small form factor of the 20L makes crowed spaces a breeze, and the security features mean I am not checking all the time! I keep discovering nice things, like the key holder in the side pocket. It is well made, thoughtfully designed and easy to use.

A bag for life

I've had this bag since its Kickstarter debut some 8 years ago. It's been with me to business meetings in France, hiked across the alps in Austria & Italy, stood up through the dry of the Serengeti and the volcanic ash of Ngorongoro, the salt & sand of the Dead Sea, the rain across New Zealand, and up into the snow of Aoraki. Throughout, it's been water/weather resistant, held all my essentials, from laptop to survival equipment, camera bodies and lenses enough to shoot weddings and wildlife – often all at once. It's been a school bag, a bike bag, a photography bag, a camping bag, a carry-on. Its organisational system enables retrieving items from any pocket without looking/in the dark, and aside from zippers, this can be done almost silently which has been great for nighttime wildlife photography. Over this time it's developed many scuffs and abrasions, but these were marks of the adventures it endured. Sure the webbing on the back panel foam was wearing through, and the zipper pulls were fraying, but only this past month did its waterproofing let me down. But ever in the spirit of adventure & environmental stewardship, PD came through with a free v2 warranty replacement and will refurbish my old bag to minimize waste (with return shipping covered)! This is a bag for life in every way; in versatility, in social & environmental responsibility, in reliability.

The Best Backpack Ever

After a lifetime of purchasing backpacks, I finally found one that is truly remarkable in every way. The adjustable top opening allows room for my tripod, camera, and at least two lenses. The Velcro separators are completely adjustable and padded, so I no longer need to use bulky camera pouches. The stiff back keeps contents from jabbing me while hiking. There is a built-in strap connector that keeps the backpack centered. Forget about backing a plastic tarp—the backpack is water-proof!

I own and have tried many different bags from all kinds of manufacturers and Peak Design knocks it out of the park with this one. Everything is well designed and the quality of materials and craftsmanship is top notch. I use this bag as a touring musician and would replace it immediately if lost/stolen.

This bag has served me well in traveling, photo use and most of all as an EDC pack. Durable, great storage and totally worth it.
