Very Close Shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Braun Series 5 shaver shaves very close without nicks or burns. It has a very powerful motor. The ergonomics of the shaver is also very nice. It's narrow body is easy to hold and the rubber grips are nice when my hands are wet. The battery seems to last although I have only used it for a week. My only complaints is that the motor is pretty loud and I actually like using it with the head locked in one position instead of flopping around.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best foil shaver ever

This Braun shaver gave me the closest, most smooth shave I have received yet. Better than a razor shave!!!!! which is hard to believe but absolutely truth full. Any guy that tries this would definitely feel the same.

Not enough to give up my razors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a razor and shaving cream guy. I like the close shave I can get from the razor. I have tried electric shavers in the past and have always gone back to the razor.
In trying the Braun Series 5 5147 electric shaver, I was not impressed enough to switch. I thought that it was clumsy/ awkward to hold and it didn't get a close enough shave for me. I tried on one day's growth, 2 day's growth and 3 day's growth. The Braun Series 5 5147 electric shaver got as close a shave in all 3 situations. Just not close enough for me. I actually had to shave with a razor after using the product.
This might be a good option for someone that does not want a perfectly smooth shave, as I know my preference is subjective.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're so sorry to hear that you didn't receive a close shave. It can take up to three weeks for your skin to adjust to a new shaver. It's best to hold the shaver at a 90 degree angle and stretch the skin to shave against hair growth, changing direction as needed. Use a gentle touch and let the shaver do the work.

Braun Series 5 Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this razor, from the time I unpacked it from the box. It's easy to use and very easy to clean. It gives me the close shave that I desire and the added long hair trimmer is great for trimming my moustache and side burns. Once you fully charge the razor the battery life is good for 3 or four days. The included travel bag makes it easy to pack for trips or just storing at home . A great product.

I needed to quickly change to the long hair trimmer (sideburn), as I had a couple of razor pulls on my face. I was surprised as to how fast the trimmer warmed up and I could feel it on my skin. I have used many Brauns razors and haven't experienced that sensation before. Maybe it is because the trimmer in this model is small.
I love the size and ergonomic features in this razor. It is easy to hold and handle. On my second shaving experience with only one day of growth it performed well. I am sure as the razor and face adjust together it will only get better.
I thought the head was a little weak in quality, but since I don't know what the price is for this razor it is possibly a cost saving feature. I do like that is has a lock feature on the head where by you can lock it while traveling. It charged up with the cord quickly. I cannot comment on the charging station as I did not receive that item.
With all this said, it is a nice razor, not of the quality of the older Braun razors that I have had in the past, but it would be a nice for travel or first-time user razor. It does shave nice and close. I also like that this razor has a two year warranty. It is nice that it is a wet/dry razor. If you generally have a heavy beard like face after two days, you may want to try another model of Braun. But for the average user it will be just fine.

Best razor ever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun Series 5 Electric Foil Shaver is the best I have ever tried. Usually it takes a few shaves to see the potential on an electric shaver, but with the Braun Series 5, the first time I tried it it was awesome, left my face feeling like if I was 13, and smooth! Its a great Electric shaver! I was used to round electric shavers but this one is even better by being linear. Great gadget!

Nice close shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is so much nicer than my cordless shaver I had bought about 2 years ago. Much closer shave and hardly any irritation, a little bit but it is probably just my skin. It seem like it will hold up quite well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start by saying I have never in my life used an electric razor. I'm 40 years old and have always used a manual razor. I read the instructions and and then read them again because honestly I had no idea how to use it! I tried it for the first time dry with 2 day stubble. Worked pretty good! Got a lot closer than I thought it would and didn't "pull" hair like I was scared it would. I'll definitely keep it in the mix with the manual razor!
