This is probably too early to accurately review but first impressions are very important. I just purchased this series 5 model 5147s on 2/4/2019. and used it for the first time on the 16th. I have severe reaction every time I wet shave and my face usually looks like it's on fire afterward, so after reading up on rosacea and recommended shaving practice I chose the series 5 to test the waters so to speak. Followed my usual routine of shower, shave using my regular Maca root cream, brush applied and was amazed at the result. I guess the only mistake I may have made is not locking the head in position, I didn't see anything intuitive in the picture instruction(at least to me) that seemed to indicate that it needed to be locked for shaving. As stated the result was far above my anticipation. No redness, barely any tingle/burning which I feel every time I shave and the experience was almost as if nothing was happening. I had to touch my face to confirm the stubble was removed. In every sensitive area that usually flushes beet red and burns there is nothing to indicate I shaved. The closeness is on par or better than my twin blade(yes Dinosaur). My regret is not being smart enough to investigate the benefits of electric foil shaving sooner, but I believe the wet/dry capability is the game changer here. I had a Norelco 50 years ago for about 3 months and I'm sure they have improved greatly but I never went back to electric shaving until yesterday. Highly recommend.
Many years ago I tried to shave with a electric shaver , but I was very disappointed with the result. Because I was getting tired every morning to shave in the traditional way, and seeking for information for electric shavers online, I read the consumer reviews on your website. So I was convinced to buy a Braun 5147s. I can say with great pleasure and satisfaction that the device does exactly what it promises. I can shave every morning very fast and satisfactorily. I am very happy with my new Braun Shaver .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I tried out this razor. I tried it on multiple stages of hair growth on my face. I tried it on one day two days and three days in between shaving. It did a wonderful job of saving closely on my face and I even tried it on my head seeing as I’m bald. It did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend the razor for someone who is trying to find a good quality razor that can do a good job of making you clean-shaven. I tried using it as a dry razor and as a wet razor it seemed as if using it as a wet razor did better but it still did a pretty good job using it as a dry razor. I would recommend buying this razor it really did an awesome job!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited until the very end so that I could give the Series 5 Braun shaver the best 'REAL' review that I could provide. I have been using it off and on over the course of the trial period. I switched back and forth between it and my traditional blade. I have used electric razors before and hated the end result. I would end up with razor rash and stubbly face. Not so with this one, particularly with the use of it in the shower. While I have to say it is far and above all of the other electric razors that I have used, I prefer my blade. I can't give it a bad rating for sure, because I do like it, but can't give it 5 stars because I didn't switch. My daughter on the other hand.....needless to say, I don't get to use it very often after she used it just once in the shower. SHE LOVES IT!!!!! She actually works her shower schedule around mine and comes to steal it from my bathroom so that she can shave her legs with it. She actually had another brand of waterproof electric and she said that mine is sooooo much better than hers. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone that uses an electric and I would certainly recommend it to anyone that doesn't truly LOVE their traditional razor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this but once I started using it, I was instantly disapointed. It is not sharp and it does not give a nice clean cut. I for sure thought this would be my next favorite item!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We hate to hear you didn't receive the clean and precise Braun shave you were expecting with our Series 5 Razor and we'd like to learn more. It may be helpful to know that it can take up to three weeks for your skin to adjust to a new shaver. It's best to hold the shaver at a 90 degree angle and stretch the skin to shave against hair growth, changing direction as needed. We suggest using a gentle touch and letting the shaver do the work. Since this wasn't the experience we'd hope for, please give us a call at (800) 272-8611.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun Series 5 Shaver is an excellent shaving tool. It gives a much closer shave than other electric shavers, and has an outstanding battery life, meaning that I rarely need to charge it. The adjustable edge makes it easy to reach and shave all of the curves of the face, leaving no areas untouched. In addition, it is entirely waterproof which makes it easy to clean and rinse if necessary. However, it is important to be careful not to press too hard when shaving. Small cuts may result when the shaver is pushed into the skin, although they are not deep and do heal quickly. I would definitely recommend the Braun Shaver to friends and colleagues!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used foils shavers in the past with mixed results. That being said, I am very pleased with the Braun Series 5 5147. I am that guy when it comes to facial hair - I have incredibly sensitive skin, very coarse facial hair, prone to ingrown hairs, yet not enough of it to just "let it grow" without looking like a teenager (I'm 35). As long as I keep up on shaving (every 1-3 days), the Braun did a fantastic job - virtually no hair pulling and only the most minute skin irritation from repeated passes on hard to shave places (my neck). I charged the razor once, the day I got it, and have still not plugged it back in (about 1 months’ worth of shaving).
There are a few cons (hence the 4 starts). The longer I let my facial hair grow, the less effective the shaver was - it then required multiple passes with increased pressure which lead to tugging and worse skin irritation - add to that moist/wet skin from the shower and the shave became frustrating.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Braun 5 and will continue to use it on a regular basis - but I will do it pre-shower and if I wait 3 or more days to shave, I will switch back to the trusty safety razor for that shave.
