Fantastic Braun Series 5 Wet/Dry Shaver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No question about it, this is an awesome shaver from a trusted name! Lightweight, easy to use, and easy to clean. Full charge seems to last a long while. Grew a 5-day beard to test it out and, the trimmer feature cuts through hair like melted butter. After this, the shaver made my face feel as smooth as a babies butt! Very modern design which matches my home very well I think. I will keep this around for a long time. Takes a little longer than my current shaver due to smaller trimmer but well worth the extra 10 minutes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] great all around razor worked very well and battery life lasted longer then expected on the road. easy to clean out and keep in tip top running condition. very user friendly. charges faster then expected. and being my first electric razor I was rather surprised with the performance. and it was easy on my sensitive skin. definitely recommending to others

My First Electric Shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this is fantastic. Braun have a history of producing exceptionally high standards of products, and this is no different. The multi angle razor gets incredibly close and ensures you have the smoothest shave possible. I was sceptical to begin with, but after a few shaves you get to know how to use the razor properly. It is a little more time consuming than using a hand razor but the results are where it counts most. My wife remarked that, not only did I look younger shaving this way, but my skin felt so smooth afterwards.
I have sensitive skin so i would recommend wet shaving with cream/gel and applying lotion to cool your skin after, my first shave was a bit painful as i was learning how best to use the razor. Now it feels great to be able to get a professional shave at home and in minutes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun Series 5 5147s Men’s Electric Foil Shaver does a pretty decent job and is easy on the skin. It did take a few passes to get a real smooth shave. I have really course hair and very sensitive skin and It didn't irritate at all. The razor was sharp and didn't pull any of the hair when cutting, which other razors I've used have. I don't know if it will continue to cut clean after many uses, but does pretty good now. The trimmer is a great option, but was a little disappointing. I had to keep going over and over the same trimming area to get a clean sharp edge compared to a straight razor. The motor seams to have plenty of power to cut and the recharge last for a very long time. Overall; I'm really satisfied with the Braun Series 5, it's great for sensitive skin.

A Cut Above The Rest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've traditionally been an cartridge razor guy. I like the smoothness of the shave but hate running out of shaving cream, cartridges and the waste of time that shaving the old fashioned way. I have tried a rotary style shaver in the past and it beat up my skin something awful. I recently acquired the Braun Series 5 5147s. I was skeptical as to whether I would like it or not. I am happy to say that it works awesome. It does a pretty good job overall with skim smoothness. My face doesn't hurt and it is a snap to clean up because you can rinse it under water. I used the razor on dry skin with a single days growth and it worked fantastic with a nice smooth result. It didn't perform as great on 4 days growth. I had to work a lot harder and utilize the beard trimmer in a couple spots to achieve the same results. So, anyone that uses this should probably plan on a daily shaving versus every couple days as it performs a lot better. I did try using this with a wet razor head and wet skin and found it didn't do quite as good a job as dry skin and razor head. Lastly, I would prefer this razor to have a stand that it simply drops in for charging.
The model I used had a cord which needed to be plugged in to the base of the razor for charging.
That was a little cumbersome and annoying but tolerable. Overall however, I found this razor to do a great job and would highly recommend

Overall Passing Grade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The razor is smooth operating and overall good quality. The Braun 5 Series Wet/Dry cleans easy, charges quickly, and doesn't leave razor burn. The razor does have some deficiencies when it comes to shaving then neck and upper lip close to the nose. Shaving dry before a shower or your washing face seems to work best but the neck is troublesome and takes multiple passes to get enough hair to make it look like you aren't patches o hulihan. Nothing is as close as shaving with a razor, but I would use this razor again. I would be curious as to how the 7 and 9 series compare as they have a more cutting system and appear to be better quality materials.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best electric shaver I have ever owned. Over the years I have owned several, yet I never could get the close shave of a razor that I became accustomed to in the military. The Braun Series 5 shaver gives me that close shave with no razor burn. It charges fast and hold that charge, cleans up easily and the shaving head can tilt freely or be locked depending on preference.

Never used an electric shaver before

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never used any electric shavers before this, and I must say I am pleasantly surprised! The Braun Series 5 5147s Men’s Electric Foil Shaver does exactly everything it says it does. I used it for the first time without water and it shaves very nice and smooth, it even got the spots that were a little longer than stubble.
I took it into the shower with me the second time and used it with just water at first, but it was a little hesitant, so I added some soap and it shaved perfect. It was smooth and didn't pinch anything while shaving. The shave it gave was very close to the skin and you can't feel any stubble after shaving with it.
Next I tried it with shaving gel, which is my favorite product to shave with, and the results were outstanding. Perfect shave from start to finish.
The one thing I absolutely love is the fact you can just rinse it off under the faucet when the gel gets too caked on it.
The battery life is incredible also. I charged it one time when I first got it, and have shaved at least 10 times now and the battery is still almost full.
