Good Fridge, Bad Ice Maker Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love everything about it except that the ice maker is in the freezer drawer, I would have purchased one with the ice maker in the refrigerator part.

French door Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased in August for a small apartment. I’m not pleased with the top level cooling or the way the doors close. It’s very easy to not close and the alarm is not loud enough where you can notice. The ice maker does not fill to capacity either. This might simply be adjustments needed. The interior bins and shelves are arranged well. The door closure issue is something that I have to constantly deal with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great fridge to fit in a very restricted area

It looks beautiful and has a surprising amount of room compared to most fridges that would fit in a 30in wide space. Under any other circumstances this would be a 5 star review but I did run into one problem with my fridge. The icemaker water fill inlet partially froze, causing the water from the icemaker to miss the ice tray and go into the back of the freezer. Had a 1/4in sheet of ice along the bottom of the freezer before I caught this. It was handled easily under the whirlpool warranty and didn't cost me anything. Fix has been in place for a few weeks and no further issues have popped up. Despite the single issue I absolutely love this fridge and would recommend it.

Very pleased with this purchase

I bought this in December 2019 and so far so good. It's an upgrade from my previous refrigerator and is the just the right size for my condo-sized kitchen. It has all the features that I wanted. The only issue we've come across is that we buy a lot of tall beverage containers and gallons of milk. The shelves leave very little room for our usual purchases for a family of 3. We've had to be creative to fit everything in, and we now keep in mind how much or how little space we have when we're in the grocery store. Other than that, we've been satisfied with this model.

Right size and right features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased an older double wide moblie home which has a limted amount of space in the kitchen. Since we have had great luck Whirpool refringerators in our brick an mortor home we looked to Whirpool for a new French Door model. We are limited to a max width of 33 inchs. We wanted a icemaker and water dispencer. Do to the limited width most in-the-door ice makers make the refridgeator to wide and deep. The ice-maker is in the freezer are and still is very easy to access. The ONLY thing we have an issue with is the right vegetable drawer doesn't shut all the way as it's not shaped correctly on the back right corner. We like the freezer space and the interior layout giving us just the right physical size with a lot of space inside.

horrible machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the Refrigerator before Thanksgiving last year. Come January of 2020, the ice maker seized up and continued to spill water onto the floor and it caused us quite a mess all the way into the basement. A tech was called and he said that the ice maker was bad and it was replaced. The clean up cost us over $10,000.00 We did call our insurance company and it was covered under our policy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A few issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1. Refrigerator arrived with a plastic film wrap to protect it. The plastic film was applied prior to the hardware (handles and trim) being applied; result was unable to remove plastic wrap that sticks out around trim and handles. Finish at the top and bottom of both doors have fine scratches, no way to remove them without marring the surrounding finish.
2. Small refrigerator drawer inside of right door, will not close all the way, I have removed the drawer to inspect for foreign objects or other issues with the drawer slide track, unable to get it to close, sticks out approx one inch.
There is a positive: Refrigerator is quiet, water filter provides nice tasting water, and the interior of refrigerator and freezer are well designed for placing items inside.
I would recommend this to a friend!
