I LOVE THE APPROACH Z80. IT IS AWESOME!!! HOWEVER, BE SURE IT'S COMPLETELY CHARGED BEFORE YOU USE IT. I WISH IT WAS DESIGNED WITH THE OPTION TO PUT A REGULAR BATTERY IN IT JUST IN CASE IT GOES DEAD WHEN YOU ARE OUT USING IT. I ALWAYS KEPT A SPARE BATTERY IN MY BAG WITH MY PRIOR RANGE FINDER. SOMETIMES WE DON'T REMEMBER TO DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO AND THE BATTERY OPTION WOULD BE A GREAT OPTION.

Great technology

I’ve had the Garmin z80 now for a month and used it several times. I had a top of the range Bushnell previously and was worried about changing but no need. It’s an excellent device which offers amazing levels of information before you chose your shot. I really can’t see any disadvantages to buying this other than you need a steady hand at 230> yards out but it hits the target after a few sweeps of the green. The screen is very clear and very engaging. A fully charged battery is good for 2 rounds of golf and the device is light and ergonomically very comfortable in hand. The case is a snug fit but that’s hardly a critasism. If you have the money, it’s well worth getting.

Great Rangefinder

The Problem is , the picture is not realy sharp, and some times the rangefinder shuts down automatically,during the golfround. The start time, is too long to get ready. I now you can adjust the display device!

Can it be this good?

I own other Garmin golf rangefinders. I ordered the Z80 from Drummond Golf Melbourne, not really believing it could possibly be as good ‘as described’. Silly me. It is superior, with excellent user - friendly features that will speed up one’s game. The Z80 provides detailed, meaningful data immediately. Stunningly clever.

Before you use the Z80 be sure you go to the website and update the rangefinder. I’ve used it twice, the first time I did not utilize all of the information. Through habit I just looked at the distance to the pin. At first it appeared sensitive to movement lining up the pin however soon you will adjust and it becomes very easy. My second outing I began to utilize all the information and features available. I especially like the ability to see a picture of the green and where the pin is in relation to overall size of the green. Looking forward to taking it to new courses and getting comfortable quickly gathering the information available through this amazing rangefinder. I am very happy with this purchase!

Absolutely excellent ! But....

Just bought this device, used it for the first time today !
Easy to use, great features, but who designed the case !!! it is so tight I took a camera case instead ! What a pity, it is built strong !
Apart of that, very good job Garmin engineers !
