I bought this model to replace an old Cuisinart I had for 9 years. It seemed light with suction cups to hold it down. The plastic seems thinner. Still does the job. Would I buy a second one? Hmmmm.

My first Cuisinart was a gift I didn’t want 35 years ago. It turned into appliance I couldn’t live without. As it aged I taped it together when the plastic broke and just made it work. I couldn’t imagine any product could replace my trusted Cuisie.
I found the perfect replace when I purchased my new Element 13 cup Cuisinart. What an amazing tool. Light weight, solidly built, easy to clean, adaptable for small and large usage...PERFECT. So happy I purchased this kitchen tool.

The Cuisinart Elemental 13-Cup 3-Speed Food Processor and Dicing Kit, Gunmetal is the best purchase I could have made! It is very versatile and well made. This food processor does nearly everything you could want. I researched all the major brands and their various models for over three weeks. Reading countless reviews, before deciding on the Cuisinart Elemental 13-Cup 3-Speed Food Processor and Dicing Kit, Gunmetal! Very glad I bought it! I feel I made the right decision! I really wanted a machine with a dicing feature. No matter the brand, many complain about them being hard to use and clean or wasting a lot of food. So I was very hesitate! I'm pleased to say, upon first use, I loved the dicer on my Cuisinart! I diced 6 medium potatoes with it. Stopping after three to clean the dicing grid with the provided tool. As per THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL's recommendations! It appears to me, many folks don't take the time to read through it or are illiterate! Yes, cleaning the grid took a little time to do, but it is still way faster than doing the dicing by hand! The diced potatoes where nearly all perfect in size and shape. With very little waste left over. Clean up afterwards was not too bad either. I used a skinny soft bristle brush to assist with cleaning. Let the machine do the work! The blades are super sharp so you don't need to push down on the pusher with any amount of force! All you need is to apply light, steady, even pressure on the pusher to assist in guiding the food through the feed tube! I have shredded both mozzarella and cheddar cheeses that turned out perfect! I have chopped pepperoni and made almond butter in the included small bowl, that both turned out great! I really like the small bowl, it saves time. And if you're careful you won't have to clean the large bowl underneath it, if you don't use it afterwards. Nice! I've also made pizza dough as well as, pepperoni and cheddar cheese spread. The dough and spread turned out fantastic. Everything blended together well, only stopping occasionally to scrape sides of bowl with included spatula. The adjustable slicing disc works terrific for potatoes, cucumbers, carrots etc. And it's very easy to adjust and use. The food processor motor is powerful enough to handle most anything and is average for noise level. The machine runs smoothly and doesn't shake or vibrate much at all. I like the suction cups on the bottom of based to help keep it in place. The included storage containers are awesome and very convenient! This food processor has nearly everything you could want. I plan on purchasing the spiralizer kit soon. And hope Cuisinart will come out with a dicing grid that makes larger sized cubes for this model! If you purchase this Cuisinart, I'm sure you'll be satisfied! It's a lot of bang for the buck! Plus, it's backed by a 3 year warranty, one of the best in the business!

My old workhorse Cuisinart died, much to my chagrin. I was open to other brands, but settled once again, on a Cuisinart. There have been several changes that required some getting used to... the seal is way more convenient and easier to clean. Mine came with the dicing tool which had a flat cover. That cover is terrific! If you don't need to add items during processing this cover makes clean up even easier. The dicing attachment is pretty useless however. It dices nicely but only does part of the item, thus leaving almost half of the vegetable not diced. When i did an onion, i found that the onion that wasn't diced was nearly half ot the total onion. I chopped it abd the volume of chopped to diced was almost equal. I won't be using the attachment much, but i really like how the machine functions overall.

I really appreciate this food processor. It saves so much time. I have read reviews that complain of the food trapped between the lid and blade or dicer, this is common and not unexpected. A food processor is not magic, at some point a person can not push food further through. The food trapped is minimal. I love the adjustable slicing blade! It can cut paper thin or thick. The dicer saves a lot of time. I have tested it out on soft fruits and veggies as well as firm ones and it has workers great. The motor body is incredibly light weight. It makes lifting it from the storage drawer easy. The only negative I have is the handle. This is the same complaint I had with my old retired food processor, it has openings that allows food particles and water get trapped inside of it. It is impossible to clean the handle out. I would buy this again and highly recommend it

Dicer is the medium size. I would have liked the larger size but this came with the food processor and works well. I have used it for potatoes twice and just cooked them less than my usual diced potatoes. I have used it for sweet potatoes a couple of times too and for onions and winter squash. It went very fast and evenly. I am getting used to the smaller size diced potatoes in the soups and potato salads. When I want to make pico de Gallo I still do it by hand because it really does need a different size dice (smaller) and the few times I make it doesn’t justify purchase of another size. I like the adjustable slicer, from very thin to thick. The zucchini and carrots sliced evenly with very little left unsliced. I shredded some potatoes for hash browns and cabbage for slaw, both using the large shred. They did well. The small bowl cannot be used with the shredder or slicer but I guess the only difference would be washing a smaller bowl instead of the large one. A couple of times I was surprised that I actually needed the large size to hold all the sliced or diced vegetable. Overall I am pleased with the food processor and accessories. I especially like having the containers for all the parts. I keep the whole thing on the counter.

Dices fair for hard items like potatoes, which is what I primarily want it to dice. So for me, I'm not so impressed. Haven't tried other times really yet. When you watch the YouTube instructions it appears that the dicer works fairly well, but there is, in my opinion, quite a bit of waste in what is left in the dicing frame, and you have to stop frequently and clean this out. For hard foods, like the potatoes or squash it is very difficult to clear this (not at all like the demonstration on YouTube, they must have cheated on that demo). I have to cut away the top layer and them push and cut away the potato from the grid. Then you put in a new potato and in a flash you have to start all over again clearing the dicing grid. A pain. Maybe I figure out a work-around with practice, but I'm not so confident. I think with softer veggies it might work well, like zucchini squash or something? I haven't tried tomatoes yet so not sure how that would go. I think they may end up more like mush but I might be wrong. Clean up is a major pain and the "pusher" is of little use when it comes to hard veggies.

This is the very good, solid device that does almost everything I need. The only problem is that what you get is all you will be able get for this model. There are no additional things you can buy for this model. Other models have lots of additional things you can get to make it do almost everything you want. However, none of these fit the 13 cup model. Oh well, I don't really need all the bells and whistles since it does what I really need - a good, high quality product.
