The fan is relatively loud when under load. When gaming, even not in ultra graphic, the fan is already pretty loud. Also, the metal piece above the keyboard tends to get hot under load. Otherwise, the machine is satisfactory. The screen is bright and clear, the sound is very loud and the performance so far is very good.

This is my first Dell laptop I've ever owned and I like it alot. Build quality is well done on this laptop very good. Design is very good. Keeps at good temps while gaming. Battery life is ok. Screen is Awesome. Alot of people don't like the large bezals around the screen...I actually like how it looks. Windows loads within a few seconds due to the SSD drive big plus there. I've got the 16gb memory 128 SSD 1TB HARD DRIVE 1060 max Q I7 8750 laptop. So far everything is going great with this laptop. Speakers sound nice. Backlit keyboard in all red looks nice. This Dell g5 is a good one at a reasonable price for a gaming laptop. It has very little bloatware installed which is Awesome. Yep very happy with this purchase.

I'm not a gamer but I love to play games. I bought this computer on advise of a friend. I do my homework from my job on it. It is fast and very easy to use. Probably spent more money then a needed to on this but I didn't want a cheap one. So far it's done everything I've asked it to for my needs. Now to learn the games it will play.

The Dell G5 5587 has been an outstanding laptop and has brought me joy every time I turn it on. This laptop can run every game I have at 60 FPS and I believe that is all you need for any game. I have seen laptops that are 200 dollars more than this one just for a small upgrade. To me it is not worth the extra money since this laptop can run any game. I also use my laptop for producing videos and working on music. This laptop has all the processing power you will ever need for any task. Buying this laptop would be a smart decision since you don't need to run games at 400fps and you will have money for other thing that are important.

Good but almost perfect gaming laptop for an average consumer

since I have started using my dell g5587, I have to be honest, it has been a pleasant surprise. I have very little expectation considering the gaming aspect but this thing is built quiet well for the money. Then the bad sides are the brightness which could be better and also the fan noise when gaming heavy triple a titles like gta v and tom Clancy. Above that, it has been a wonderful experience with my laptop.

While most people buy this notebook for gaming, I use it as a workstation for video rendering and Photoshop work. The dealership (Jumbo Electronics) did a spot upgrade of RAM from 16GB to 32GB. I already pushed the boundaries of RAM, GPU and 8th Gen Processors and this machine did not disappoint. This should age well 5 years from today!
