I have had my Whirlpool side by side for three months and love it but.....
1) there is some type of noise that comes from the fresh flow filter, like a tapping noise that comes and goes
2) I had to replace the water filter and after inserting the new filter, my fridge stopped working and wouldn’t dispense water or ice. After a search on the internet, found that I should unplug the unit to reset. Well, pulling out the fridge was no easy matter and had to plug/unplug three times. Then had a hard time trying to calibrate the water dispenser. I dread having to install the next filter!
If anyone has any better solution, would love to hear it!

RETURNING TO THE STORE

NOISY! HEAT! LUKEWARM WATER! TAPE REMOVAL AFTER DELIVERY TOOK A SOLID HOUR! OVERALL POOR DESIGN AND POOR PACKING FOR SHIPPING!
First, the fan noise from this thing is ridiculous! It should NOT be bought for an open-concept house because it is almost as loud as a dishwasher!
Second, when the motor is running, the heat coming out from the left-side is pretty hot! If I had wanted a heater for the kitchen, I would have bought one!
Third, the temperature immediately upon exit from the water dispenser is 65° F! I wouldn't believe it if I didn't use 2 thermometers to confirm it!
Lastly, it took a solid HOUR to fully unpack and de-tape everything! There were at least 100 pieces of blue fiberglass tape and NONE were courteously folded back for easy removal!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this is an exceptional refrigerator. When the water fills into the ice maker it does make a slightly louder than expected sound (for a short length of time), but that is being extremely notpicky.
