Hello. We appreciate you contacting us, though we truly hate to hear you’ve had an issue with the bottom of the dishwasher starting to hold water. We know that must be concerning, and regret any inconvenience caused; we’d like to assist.
For an issue with water standing in the bottom of the tub, or water not pumping out of the tub, you may want to check the air gap (if you have one) and the drain to be sure they aren’t clogged. Ensuring the model was installed with either a high drain loop or air gap is also important. We do discuss possible ways to address an issue with water not draining in the manual; the troubleshooting tips start on page 14: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf&_ .
If you’re unable to solve the issue with the information from the manual, our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737 or online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm ; a technician would be glad to examine the unit. We hope this is resolved for you soon, so you can enjoy your dishwasher without further inconvenience. If you have any other concerns or questions, we are happy to offer assistance any time. -Sarah@GEA

Not bad for what it is
on July 28, 2022

It does a nice job of cleaning stuff. You have to open the door as soon as they cycle ends for your dishes to dry. That's what the manual says, so it's not just a "me" problem.. I am not in love with that. The silverware basket is way too large for a dishwasher this size, and it's wasted space. Like the last 18 inch dishwasher I had, the soap container is for a full size dishwasher, so don't fill it all the way or everything comes out soapy. Overall the layout is good and you can stack quite a bit of stuff in it, so that's a plus. But my large plates don't fit, so be sure to measure before you buy. It's not bad for what it is, and it's not noisy at all, which is nice in a small house like the one I have. Overall, I would say it's not a bad purchase as long as you have short dishes and you will be home to open the door so your stuff dries.

control panel died after fewer than 5 years

This was a good dishwasher but it lasted fewer than five years, with very light usage. They don’t make ‘em like they used to, I guess.

Cleans well!

Great little machine for a small kitchen. Cleans well. Wish the racks could handle our pottery dinner plates more easily so have have to arrange creatively. The balance of the utensil basket is a little tricky; and there is no built-in stop for the lower rack so have to be careful to pull it out slowly and carefully.

Horrible dishwasher
on October 31, 2023

Dishes are dirty and glasses are cloudy. Slots for dishes are so close together dishes don’t fit. Silverware basket is too small. Bottom tray falls out. My 20 year old Kenmore was better.

Difficult to load & leaves dishes wet.

We have had 18" dishwashers before; the GE 18" dishwasher is extremely difficult to load & does not do a thorough job of drying the dishes. Normal size dinner dishes 11" must be loaded in a leaning position otherwise the rotating spray bar does not rotate. This cuts down on the number of dishes that can be washed during one load. We purchased a compact dishwasher because it suited our needs & space requirements. This was the 1st time purchasing GE appliances and this product did not meet our expectations.
